Intended to do this some time ago, better late than never. I adopted -this- silly hairball March 2025. He is my second bunny, but my first son. We started out slow and gently, and in time Sugar has made himself very comfortable! He loves his fox plush, raspberries and personal space very much, doesn't mind some love between his ears every so often, but shys away from the brush which we are still working on! His favorite lounge spot is my swivel chair which I have been forced to surrender to him. We call it his throne! A massive thank you to CHS for giving important information and care advice during the entire process, and even more so for letting my socially awkward self adopt this anxious king. I've learned a lot in the past ten months about rabbit care, and I can't wait to help another bunbun in need from here specifically when I have a bigger place!!

My daughter and I come here every few weeks to visit with the animals. Since I am not in a position to own an animal the next best option is to visit them. The staff are always accommodating and the facilities are clean.

We recently celebrated our daughter’s 5th birthday at the Humane Society. The whole process from initial booking to the actual event was done with so much care and attention. They accommodated the younger ages and our facilitator Bella was so engaging, enthusiastic and patient with a large group of kids. We highly recommend the Humane Society for a fun and feel good birthday party.

We called about a certain dog and then we went there to see it, but then we’re told the dog was out on a day visit. So we went there for nothing.

All the workers seem really devoted and care about the animals. They do some amazing work. We had a great experience adopting our new dog last week.

We feel incredibly lucky to have adopted our little black kitten, whom we named Meiqiu. We originally had an appointment for the next day, but we couldn’t wait and were afraid of missing him — and luckily, everything worked out perfectly.
He adapted very quickly at home and is already relaxed, affectionate, curious, and full of joy.
This is a very professional and patient organization. Special thanks to Annika for her kindness, help, and clear explanations throughout the adoption process.
We would also like to sincerely thank the front desk staff member who was on duty on the morning of January 11 — the gentleman with long hair. He was incredibly helpful as well, and although we forgot to ask his name, we truly appreciate his support.
Highly recommend adopting from here — we hope many others will find their own little angels as well.

I had a wonderful experience at the shelter. I originally came with my girlfriend to look for a small kitten, but we ended up falling in love with another cat — a bit older, but absolutely perfect for us. Because of the adoption process, I was only able to take him home the next day, and now he is truly thriving. He is incredibly affectionate, calm, and sweet. He uses the litter box perfectly and can’t get enough of attention and love. We are so grateful for him.
I want to say a huge thank-you to the staff. Meredith gave us a very friendly and detailed introduction, explaining everything clearly and kindly. She was patient, welcoming, and made the whole process feel easy and comfortable.
I also want to thank Eugenia, who helped translate and made sure I understood every step. She was incredibly sweet, supportive, and very helpful throughout the adoption.
Overall, the experience was wonderful — warm, professional, and full of care. Thank you for helping us find our new family member. He is truly perfect.

My family and I are so thankful that the humane society was able to connect us with our newest family member Mishco. The adoption process was effortless and the team was incredibly caring when we were expressing what we needed in a new fur baby. Having Mishco come into our lives after the loss of our sweet Luna earlier this year, has been one of the greatest gifts.

Thank you, Calgary Humane Society—you are amazing! Your facility is a wonderful place for pets, and it’s clear how much you care about them. There are so many friendly people working there. A few weeks ago, we adopted a cat named Ruxpin, and we absolutely love him! He is so sweet, and we can’t imagine our daily routine without him now. Thank you for your support and assistance. You are the best!
Now after 1 year he is so big and beautiful 😍
