“We dropped off donations at Samaritan’s Purse Canada in the NE, back in early December and we couldn’t be more grateful for the kindness and accommodation we received. We had unfortunately missed the posted deadline because things had been incredibly busy on our end, but the staff were still so welcoming and understanding.
They took the time to assist us without hesitation, and their positive attitude truly meant a lot. It’s not just about accepting donations — it’s the way they treat people with warmth and appreciation that really stands out.
We deeply value the work they do every year for communities in need, and seeing their dedication firsthand makes us appreciate their mission even more. Thank you to the amazing team for being so kind and accommodating — it does not go unnoticed.”
“The Marta loop community center was a great venue for our AGM. Spacious with a good kitchen. It also had a raised platform which meant our executive could be seen by everyone.”

“Nice place to work and have fun time with cats. They are all very angelic. If you are only a cat person and not a dog person, then this place is not for you. Cat room is all surrounded by dog kennels. Some staff are also careless while hoovering around with dog they forget the cat room and volunteer in cat room. There is a possibility that you can be cornered by a distressed and aggressive dog.”
“Great association to belong to amazing beach that is private I highly enjoy this man made beach in Calgary although parking is a nightmare and beach is extremely popular”
“Support workers are extremely helpful with accommodation & support in helping men get there feet back on the ground again. Rooms are extremely nice & affordable.”
“I love this store, it has all the clothes I like, I go here every three months or so just love the selection of the clothes so much selection like new clothes and styles. I recommend it.”
“Very convenient and one hall can be booked for less than $500 but this place needs some serious renovation/restoration. Sometimes they don't mention that if you wish to have Alcohol served at the party it can only be by the person designed by them and the alcohol they provide. Which can add to the cost quite a bit. Good enough room for Gathering of up to 80 people. The kitchen is included in the price and you can bring your own food.”
“I see this is a wonderful thing you all do. I think the Peanut butter and jam are great. I am concerned with the processed meats they are known as carcinogens.Cause cancer. Why not cucumbers or tomatoes in the sandwiches. My favorite as a kid. ?”

“Wanted to buy some parts from Alpha for a 2022 Ford f150. The prices were reasonable and the guys were friendly and helpful! I would definitely come back when parts are needed. A+++++ service!”
“The society was very helpful when my husband passed away. Service was great and the price was very reasonable. My mom's funeral cost over $12K in Lethbridge (not including casket she pre-purchased, and no including funeral plot. This was not through the Memorial society).”
“Staff are very friendly. Shoppers were respectful to each other and great pricing for items. However, you will have to dig deep into the bins as most of the items are worn out.”
“Calgary Pride celebrations have come a LONG way in just a few years! The 2024 Pride Festival was amazing: best location ever, actually "something for everyone" and great attention to detail to meet the needs of a diverse group of people!
My suggestions of "areas to improve" = Pride Guide was difficult to read. I wish the Pride website included unofficial Pride events like the Dyke & Trans March. Thank you to all the Pride volunteers!”
“MY FAVOURITE SCHOOL EVER!!! Ditch public school it’s just doomed at this point my friends :3 (which is rlly sad). Also art, art indeed, ppl also all very Nero spicy and gay there so (almost) everyone is super nice :3!! I recommend 1000%”
“I would like to express my sincere appreciation for Ban Selewa, who went above and beyond in assisting my parents with their needs. Ban took the time to thoroughly explain all the programs and services available to seniors through the Government of Alberta, ensuring my parents understood their options and felt supported. Her patience, professionalism, and kindness made a significant difference, and I am truly grateful for her help. Thank you, Ban, for your exceptional service and dedication!”
“I donated in the morning and the person working on the receiving area was very kind and attentive, he immediately smiled at me and say thanks. Great customer service and super kind staffs!”
“One of my favourite Value Village locations in the city, I never leave empty handed! Always a great selection of stuff, the store is much cleaner than some other Value’s, and the employees are awesome! My only issue, as with every other thrift store nowadays, is that some of the prices can be crazy sometimes when you remember that these are used, donated goods at the end of the day. But you can still find tons of good deals if you look hard enough!”
“Roberta, Adette and the gang love their job and serving the community. Always a pleasure seeing them, their smiles and good vibes. Oh, and the bargains, lemme tell ya!”
“Seniors have 10% off every day. I was there a few times in the past month and everytime I got the discount. Some of the treasures you find are UNBELIEVABLE!!! This place is very well organized, clean & full of surprises!!!”
“SMALL SELECTION, A BIT OVERPRICED
Not very much to choose from, I suggest calling ahead. They do have lots of art and clothing. Store wasn't too busy but you may have to make multiple trips to find specific items.
Many items were broken, be sure to check the back of artwork for damaged frames. One particular g had the while backing and hanging wire was destroyed and they offer 1$ off the 12$ painting...”
“Intended to do this some time ago, better late than never. I adopted -this- silly hairball March 2025. He is my second bunny, but my first son. We started out slow and gently, and in time Sugar has made himself very comfortable! He loves his fox plush, raspberries and personal space very much, doesn't mind some love between his ears every so often, but shys away from the brush which we are still working on! His favorite lounge spot is my swivel chair which I have been forced to surrender to him. We call it his throne! A massive thank you to CHS for giving important information and care advice during the entire process, and even more so for letting my socially awkward self adopt this anxious king. I've learned a lot in the past ten months about rabbit care, and I can't wait to help another bunbun in need from here specifically when I have a bigger place!!”
