DHL Express is by far the worst freight company I have ever dealt with.
My truck’s fuel pump failed, so I ordered a replacement and paid over $100 extra for the fastest available shipping. That shipping option was DHL Express. At the time of purchase, the seller’s website showed an estimated delivery date of December 23rd. As soon as I received the DHL tracking number, DHL’s own system changed the delivery date to the 29th. That alone was unacceptable.
This was cross-border shipping, but the package cleared customs with no issues. No outstanding balance. No duties owed. No documentation problems. The tracking clearly shows customs clearance completed in Southern Alberta on December 23rd — and immediately afterward, the shipment was marked as “ON HOLD” in my city.
No explanation. No reason code. No timeline. Nothing.
I tried calling DHL to get clarification, but it is nearly impossible to reach a human being by phone. I eventually used their chat support. After asking me for several pieces of information, the agent abruptly closed the chat, claiming they “assumed I had left” — while I was actively typing. That level of incompetence is astounding.
I started another chat and was told the package would be delivered the next day, December 24th. That was not true. The package never moved.
It is now December 30th. The fuel pump still has not been delivered. My truck has been down far longer than necessary, costing me time, money, and work. I was forced to buy another fuel pump locally from Lordco at nearly double the cost because DHL could not be relied upon to deliver a shipment they had already brought into my city.
To make matters worse, the DHL Express app now shows “Scheduled delivery date not available” and provides no meaningful tracking updates whatsoever.
As shown below, after posting this review DHL Express responded publicly with an apology and stated they were “reviewing the case internally,” then asked me to provide shipment details — without providing any direct contact information, case number, or escalation path. This mirrors the entire experience: generic apologies, no ownership, and no actual resolution.
I ship and receive freight regularly and have never experienced anything even remotely this bad with any other carrier. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic operational competence is staggering.
If you value your time, your money, or having critical parts arrive when promised, avoid DHL Express at all costs. I will never use this company again.

Been waiting for my package, filled out all of the necessary forms with email confirmations of doing so. I keep getting emails saying I didn’t fill the forms out and my package is on hold.
When I email the help team, they refer me to a phone number that I’ve spent roughly 3 hours on 5 separate occasions trying to speak to someone.
UPDATE: My package arrived December 22nd. This was to be 1-3 day delivery.
Very disappointed.

Extremely disappointed with DHL Express Canada.
I paid for express/expedited international shipping with an expected delivery time of 5 days, and my parcel has now been delayed for 10 days with no resolution.
The shipment has been placed on hold for “shipment-related fees,” yet no payment link or invoice was ever provided via email, SMS, WhatsApp, or the DHL website. Customer service has been unreachable — phone lines are unavailable, chat support leads nowhere, and even official email addresses bounce back as “not found.”
The delay is entirely due to DHL’s internal system and communication failure, not the customer. Despite being ready to pay immediately, there was no way to do so.
Charging for express service and then failing to deliver within the promised timeframe — while also blocking the shipment — is unacceptable. I am requesting a refund for the express shipping charges and would strongly caution others before choosing DHL Express in Canada.

1 star , I spent 30 mins more than I should , simply because the curly hair lady, would not provide me the dhl picking address in my hometown country , when my data was not working, I had to resource to call my wife to get it, to discover later on that it is in their system and it could have been provided from the beginning, when talking to other employee. Dhl has trashy service definitely. I was at DHL express Calgary Service Point , next to Calgary Int Airport on Dec 5 at 8.15 am. The second person I talk to , who has curly hair , who look like some some of manager or someone with Autority. (I don't know her name ), was the one said , the pick up office address for dhl is a secret , you should put a actual address , and they don't help with that, and I should look it up myself ( I had no wi fi or internet on my phone )

I had an excellent experience at DHL. Thanks to the outstanding support from Kibrom and Eskandria. They were professional, patient, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. They guided me step by step through registering and processing my package on the office PC, making everything smooth and stress-free.
What impressed me most aside from the excellent customer service was the cost. The final price was about half of what other couriers were asking, which made a huge difference. Their transparency and willingness to help me find the most reasonable option really stood out.
Interestingly, while at the DHL office, I met someone who would be travelling to my package’s destination in a few days and could have taken it for free. Since we had just met, they were understandably hesitant, but Kibrom offered me a discount to reduce the cost further. Even so, choosing DHL was absolutely the right decision because of the trust, professionalism, and excellent service provided by Kibrom and Eskandria. Highly recommended. Their customer service truly deserves five stars

I am highly disappointed with DHL Calgary. I paid for express delivery, yet my package was delayed with no proper updates or urgency. Because of their sluggish and unreliable service, I had to change my flight twice, costing me time, money (over $2500) and unnecessary stress.
For a company that claims to offer fast and efficient delivery, this experience was completely unacceptable. What is the point of paying for express service when DHL can’t deliver on their own promises? This level of sluggishness and disorganization is intolerable. I am beyond frustrated, and I will never trust DHL Calgary with anything important again. I had a terrible experience with them, and the false hopes from their team made it even worse. I had to miss very important commitments that I had already planned and prepared for.

Horrible service! My Niece paid for express service - DHL held her package from Monday till Friday of that week despite knowing that she needed to receive it urgently! Horrible service, horrible place! Do not use them! They lack empathy and do not care about you despite their exorbitant fees! If i could rate them -1 i would!

I’m sorry to say this, but if I could rate this place zero stars I would. This is a warning for anyone looking to use their facilities. They attempted to deliver a package for me on October 28th but apparently couldn’t deliver…they left no note, nothing. Just took the package away back. The only way I found out that there was a problem was through the seller…they got a notification. This was a big problem because this was for a gift and I was expecting it to be on time…which would’ve been the 28th. I got in touch with customer service and I was redirected to not 1 not 2 but 7 different people in total saying they needed to wait for updates on my package. A week later and I was still met with the same response “I’m sorry for the inconvenience we’re working on it…you have to wait for a notification for pickup” finally I got frustrated enough to drive 40 minutes to this location from my workplace which was extremely inconvenient given they’re a delivery company…The front desk people obviously have no clue what they’re doing as the woman who was there had a blank confused look on her face as to how to give me my package. Thankfully I took my package home today… a week later. I’m very disappointed and consider this really unacceptable.
