About East Hills Shopping Centre
East Hills Shopping Centre on 17th Ave SE in Calgary is a relatively new and modern destination for shopping and dining. It offers a decent and impressive variety of stores for a shopping center of its size, including big-box retailers like Costco, Walmart, Dollarama, Michaels, and Homesense. There is a nice mix of fashion, home goods, and services, with a range of dining options from quick bites to sit-down meals. The area is well-maintained, clean, and laid out well with ample parking and green space. However, a large part of it is still under construction and it feels like it’s still developing. The area is missing other grocery stores and is not currently a one-stop shop. The primary downside is significant traffic congestion on 17th Ave, which is described as a nightmare, and a poor parking lot design. This congestion is expected to get worse. Once future road construction is complete, access might improve. Despite the traffic, it is considered a great mall with great stores worth visiting.

Good place for shopping and Costco gas. It's missing food options. It can be tricky to get in and out sometimes.

Good shop selection. Easy to get to from Chestermere. Watch out for the Costco rushes on the weekend!

Lots of stores coming up there. But too much traffic. When they start construction in the spring 2026 to extend memorial drive to 84st it might be better to get into this mall. Cant wait.
