I called in to ask if they had an item in stock to see if I could exchange it for the same item, since the one I purchased was defective and stopped working. It has been less than 14 days. The lady on the phone said they "weren't allowed to check for me" even though I had called the Market Mall location, and the employee was able to check no problem. I have the dept # as well as the style # and the original price tag still attached. It is a rather unique little gold lamp that is USB chargeable with touch controls. I feel as though if it were true that their policy states they "can't look for an item on the floor" that this would be consistent across all homesense locations. This makes me think that it's just lazy employees unwilling to help. I can't even check the website to see who has it in stock, so now I'm forced to run around to different locations and check myself. Kudos to the Market Mall location for actually being willing to check for me so I didn't have to waste my time going there. It seems like a really bad policy to not be able to have your employees check for items, especially if the customer has very specific details on the item in question.

I have always loved shopping at HomeSense because it offers amazing items and products that enhance my home. However, my experience at this location was far from pleasant. I usually never write a review only when I am happy, but I really want to write it today!
While shopping, my cart became heavy, so I left it nearby to grab something quickly. When I returned just 1-2 minutes later, my cart was gone despite being filled with items. Exhausted, I approached a store employee to explain that someone had taken my cart. I even pointed out that some of my items were in her employee cart. The employee replied, "Oh no…". I guess my common sense left me then, and I had never thought she took my items, but some of my items were on her cart! So basically, she was the one who took my cart but replied oh no lol
I then spoke with the manager, who suggested that I might have left my cart unattended for 15-30 minutes, which is why it was taken away according to their policy. I explained that it had only been a couple of minutes or even seconds, certainly not more than five minutes! The manager offered to help me find the items around the store again, but looked like she was annoyed. Also, finding 20 items around the store again sounded like hell to me!! Why did she even ask to find items around the store, knowing they first brought unattended card items near the counter? She even emphasized understanding the difficulty of their job and how hard it is for them, and I would know it if I tried, lol. I worked in the restaurant while studying, and I have never spoken like this to a customer, never said it was their fault, and never said to understand me and how hard it is for me! So, I found it pretty frustrating. As a customer, I believe it’s crucial for store employees, especially a manager ( I assume was as she had a dress and looked like a manager), to understand our perspective, especially when we’re tired and inconvenienced.
Finally, after some effort, my items were found near the counter, for which I am grateful. However, the initial response from the staff could have been much better. Instead of assuming I had left my cart for a long time, blaming me and asking me to understand their challenges, they should have promptly helped locate my items and reassured me with a more empathetic approach.
Despite this experience, I still appreciate the quality of HomeSense’s products. However, I hope they improve their customer service to ensure a better shopping experience for everyone in the future.

Placed a call to ask about product, and spoke to a woman named Emily! And she was absolutely delightful and very helpful! Would definitely go back just to meet her again! Kudos to you guys at this location!
