I was one of the many people who showed up for last minute Christmas shopping. I came here to buy for a family member and had absolutely no idea what I was looking for. Luckily, Christa was my savior and not only gave incredible service, but went above and beyond by checking purchase records of my family member to see what they typically like. Then she gave me multiple options to choose from all with varying prices of affordable gifts. Once I paid, I was then given a secondary gift for free to give her, as well she used my family member's account to give her the rewards for the purchase, but also voided her getting the notification so she doesn't know what I got for her. Thought I was gonna be wandering for hours around the mall struggling to find anything, and I was done in less than 10 minutes thanks to Christa. I feel like I cheated it was so easy. Would absolutely come back here again for more easy gift shopping.

I went into L'Occitane in Chinook mall on the evening of Nov 12th 2024 to inquire about their advent calendars. The man working was very friendly and helpful, so much so, that I decided to purchase the larger premium one. The total came to $163.80 and I told him that I will pay $130 in cash and then put the rest on my credit card.
He then took my cash payment and then asked me to scan my credit card. He continued to chat with me and give me some free samples. He then told me that my payment did not go through and asked me to scan my credit card again. I told him that I heard the beep on the machine, but he assured me that the payment did not go through.
Upon receiving my receipt it showed a payment of $130 and a payment of $33.80. It did not specify how each payment was made.
When I arrived home, I went into my banking and saw that $130 and $33.80 had been put through on my credit card in two separate transactions.
I called the store in the morning and spoke with the manager, and explained what happened, and also informed her that I had noticed a google review from 2 weeks earlier with a similar incident that had happened to another customer in their store. She was very apologetic and said she thinks she knows what happened and would call me back. She called me back and said that I could come in and have a credit for the $130 put back on my visa.
I did just that, she was there as was the guy that helped me the evening prior. I expressed to them both how stressful the whole situation had been for me, and asked them how this happened and what they could do differently so that it doesn't happen to someone else. They said that the way L'Occitane's system is set up is not very good, and that is how this all occurred.
I told them that I appreciated the swift action in refunding the $130 but would be posting a google review about everything that happened.
What I will do differently in future, is I will not be so distracted by the chatter of the merchant when I am purchasing something, and will pay close attention to the amount on the screen BEFORE I tap. If I am told the tap did not work, I will ask for proof or I will log into my banking and see if anything was posted before I tap.
I will be also contacting L'Occitane's head office to advise them of the issue, so that perhaps they can implement something in their system or change their payment system so that this does not continue to happen to other customers.

I had a very frustrating experience that I'm going to share.
I had a gift card for lulu lemon and Chinook mall.
I wanted to buy something from lulu and locctaine.
I accidentally used the Chinook card at lulu instead of the lulu card, and i got it refunded and used the right card so I could use the Chinook one at loccotaine. ( kept the recite to prove the refund )
I went to loccotaine, tried to use the card and the lady working said it did not go through so I used cash instead thinking maybe there was a waiting period for the money to go back om the card.
( This was a while ago ) I do not live by Chinook so I thought nothing of it.
I went back to Chinook today, went to customer service, and he told me that they did take the funds today.
I went to loccotaine to have them look up my file, and indeed the funds did go though.
So this means 1 of two things.
1: the machine malfunctioned and it's a honest mistake.
2. Whoever was working said it didn't go though and took the cash for themselves.
I'll never know, and I'm out 100$
This is extremely frustrating.
Partly my fault i should have checked the card immediately after she said it " didn't go through " but frustrating nothing could be done for me.
Now, it's a he said she said factor, because the recite they have says my card went through and I ALSO paid them cash.
I won't be back to this store again.
And for others, make sure you double check if they tell you a card " didn't go through "

Every time I visit this store the staff are unable to figure out how to access my gift card. Today, they wouldn't accept cash to pay the balance of my purchase. Why is it so hard to make a purchase at this store?

HiDecided to write in here because no one’s doing anything from this company in regards to a gift card I have. So hopefully this will be a warning to anyone purchasing from loccitane. Great product. Terrible service.I was given a gift card pre-Covid.In my city there was no physical store and did not want to order online as product would usually come damaged. So I would wait until I got to a city location.When I went to use the gift card at the chinook mall location in calgary they said they were upgrading the system and to come back in a few weeks.I came back again to that location and they said to come back next week. I asked them if they could give me a call because they were not sure when it would be usable.They never called. And this is the manager of the location who promised me a call.I then went to the market mall location 2 days ago to try and get some answers.This manager was the only one who took the time to try and get me some answers. She found out the amount of the gift card and directed me to a specific phone line as she could not do anything in store. I had to ask customer service to issue me a new gift card that could be used in store.I called yesterday, they were going to issue me store credit and were going to call me back. They never did.I called today , the said it would be emailed to me. I didn’t hear back again.Anyone reading this. DO NOT BUY A GIFT CARD FROM HERE. You won’t be able to use it and they will keep your money.

never had any disappointments from their products even from their seasonal and promotional editions as i have always loved their formulations and ingredients. i find their gift with purchase sizes though a lot of plastic waste when a 15 ml hand cream could’ve been in a sachet instead of this tiny tube only to look like it’s original size but only good for couple uses. even their advent calendars; too much paper and plastic wastes with very little products inside and to come from a company that takes pride in being all natural and eco-friendly and sustainable, it’s cringey. over all this store is amazing and so are their products. there’s a sampling station just right when you go in with open sinks and readily available samples and toiletries to use. i highly recommend their immotelle divine collections, even the youth hand cream speaks enough about this company. almond line is my favourite as well and not one item from the collection has ever disappointed me. immortelle precious is really good. and aqua reotier and verbena collection is great for summer for those not-too-heavy days. the staff here are always friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional. my most favourite store in chinook i always leave with a smile.

Highly expensive but worth it. The 40% Shea Butter body cream is ~50$, but lasts me the same as 3 Olive - Body Shop tubs in this dry Calgary weather. Quality products at a high price point

My wife got a sample gift set for Christmas and really liked their Bergamot Hand Cream and when we inquired about getting more the sales rep said they were limited edition and would be going out of stock soon. After offering to go to the store room to get the size we would like, she returned with extra and proposed signing up for a VIP membership FREE of charge which at this time came with a $20 OFF coupon when spending $70 or more. We were getting a 150ml which cost $35 so for an extra $15 we were able to get a second tube. She also sent us home with multiple samples for my wife to try. Very excellent service and we felt the rep today went above and beyond for us.

Love the products but will order online before going into this store again! I went into use a promo code that was sent to me, they said I had already used it but the email was only sent this morning! The person, I assumed was the manager started whispering to the other girl and then came over to tell me they wouldn't honour it because they had not seen it before! They need to train their staff better, I am not sure what has happened to this company but the staff were rude and made me feel very unwelcome. Last time I checked a store was there to sell products and L'Occitane usually provides amazing service, just not this store!

Had everything my wife wanted, very friendly and professional staff
