The isles of the store are super narrow and overly packed. My elderly mother bumped a pencil sharpener package off a hook. The plastic packaging cover that is glued to the cardboard backing came off (not glued on very well in the first place). My mom brought to the front to let the lady working know what happened, in which she proceeded to rudely tell my mom to be more careful and that it would never sell even if glued back on with a couple dabs of glue (it would not have ever been apparent it had popped off in the first place).
First off wow! I am not a large person and I had to side step down the aisles to avoid brushing against anything. I then listened to this woman tell my mom she is costing her money and taking food away from her children! That was a little over the top! She claimed she was the owner of the store but clearly is not a good business owner, because she set the store up in a way that makes it impossible to turn around in. There is no chance you could pass another person in the aisle!
She made it sound like my mom destroyed $100’s of dollars in merchandise, it was a $2 pencil sharp and it was not damaged!
Maybe the owner should cut back on smoking (store smells like a bus stop terminal in the 80’s) if she is so worried about feeding her children. Honestly if a fire marshal walked into that store they might have something to say about safety, as it would be very difficult to exit the store in a safe an efficient manner if there was an emergency situation.
Normally I am all about supporting small businesses, but when you are an ignorant and ride business operator who likes to pick on seniors because of a problem you created, I draw the line! This owner has some issues and I would highly recommend you take your business elsewhere.

FAVORITE Dollar store, of course with today's market it's impossible to have everything for $1. However the prices here are still reasonable, it's a mom & pop shop and the staff are incredibly personable and are always more than willing to help, provide feedback AND they know where items are located in the shop!!

All because my mother and I had a mother and daughter fight and so my mom had my ice scrapes for my shoes and mistakenly took them to the dollar store because i always hang around there so Hilary told her she was not keeping them and threw them in the garbage so then my mom told me that so then I went over there to get them from the garbage and tried to grab her garbage to get then she tossed me on the ground repeatedly kicked and punched me and grab my glasses off my face and i managed to grab the one and then I pushed her off me and got up and and asked her for the other one that she shoved down her pants and she said now get out of my store , so I got up and walked out to call the cops and then the cops came they talked to her looked at the camera footage and came back to me and they told me they can't charge her for assault because I was trespassing and basically took her story and left
Good luck Hilary and keep being a karen you are in this neighborhood and I will be going to the police department

I was here with my two friends on Halloween trying to buy some stuff for our Halloween party and we were met with the worst attitude I have ever seen from another human being. We entered the store at around 5:50-6:00 P.M and asked a woman at the counter if they had any balloons and she pointed to the back of the store which we thanked her for and headed down to pick up what we needed. Then we came back up to the counter to pay for the balloons until one of my friends remembered we also needed a ping pong ball for the party so we asked her once again if she had it so we don’t have to wander around the store more. She pointed to a shelf saying that it was near the solo cups which we once again thank her for and was going to grab it together until she said that she was uncomfortable with us carrying around big bags in the store which is totally understandable. So we then apologized and I took my friend’s bag so she could go grab the ping pong ball herself. The woman was pointing toward a shelf and telling my friend where it is but my friend was having a little trouble finding it since there were a lot of shelves and stuff around. I guess that might have irritated the woman since she proceeded to lash out at us, yelling that we were being disrespectful, how her 15 year old would never act like this (having trouble finding stuff? Thanking and apologizing?), “goddamn you teenagers are so annoying and disrespectful” (or something of sort), cussed us out, and told us to get out of her store. After that we even apologized to her saying quote on quote “I’m so sorry, we didn’t mean it like that” because I do admit there are many things that I lack knowledge in and we might have come off as rude and disrespectful (somehow?). Then she yelled back “But you did” and told us to get out of her store again. We apologized once more and left. I honestly was left shaken because I have never been treated like this before, especially at a business establishment. I’m not saying that customer service means the customer is always right but this is just a matter of basic respect for another human being. Also being in the service industry myself, I never thought that this is a way to treat people let alone customers who are just trying to support the business. I have been here many times before as I live nearby and really like the place (the past times were different people at the counter) but I regret supporting this store. I get that maybe she had a bad or what not but it is no reason to dump her anger on someone else. Or maybe she thought that we were stealing, which I could understand because of the typical view of teenagers (she can check CCTV to see the truth). Being in such an industry is not easy I would agree but I have never seen anyone act this way before. She could have easily and respectfully told us what she found disrespectful about us and we would have kindly apologize (like we did) or work it out and leave. But she decided to be immature yelling and cussing us out instead. From the reviews and responses I saw here, I realized that we were not the only ones who have been treated like this and I’m not commenting on other people’s experience since I wasn’t there personally but there seems to be a pattern. I look forward to hearing your response because I would love to continue supporting the store!
Update: The Canadian justice system guarantees everyone due process under the law. The Canadian Justice system is founded on the presumption of innocence in a criminal matter, meaning everyone is innocence until proven guilty.

I am extremely appalled by the store owners professionalism along with her demeanour. This thursday was halloween as we all know, as teens me and my peers wanted to throw a get together. We decided on what we needed for our halloween party, this would include the balloons that me and my peers have purchased in this store, along with ping pong balls that caused the store owner to lash out on us. It is extremely understandable that she was not comfortable with the idea that me and my peers were carrying big bags, as we were going to a sleepover. She told us she wasn’t comfortable with three of us walking around her store with our bags so ultimately I took it upon myself to go find the ping pong balls we were looking for alone and leave my bags with my two friends at the front of the store. Looking for the ping pong balls I proceeded to ask where they were, the store owner was calm and told me that they were beside the cups. I take responsibility that I did not see them fast enough. I proceeded to look around on where the cups were due to her only pointing behind me and there was a shelf behind me. While looking for the balls she suddenly started yelling at me and my peers. As she yelled at us to get out she proceeded on saying that we were annoying, disrespectful, and immature, saying so she included the fact that her 15 year old was not like us and that she hates teenagers. First off we came in her store with genuine actions of buying what we need, we are responsible and payed for our stuff, I get that we might’ve annoyed her since we were talking and we were the only ones at her store. But her actions are not excused by these since we were respectful and did not mean to bother her in any sort of way. Obviously after her yelling at us to leave led me and my peers to apologize for our actions, even tho all we did was buy balloons and asked where ping pong balls were. We immediately left the store. Honestly if you are one to lash out at customers for asking where things are and continuing on cussing them out, you should not be a store owner. It is basic respect to treat everyone with abit of patience. I will never be back at this store and extremely regret purchasing from them. This incident has ruined my day and ultimately left me appalled by what happened. Please do consider on working on your customer service, along with treating people with basic respect. It is obvious that the customer is not the problem, from the looks of these reviews. This was a disappointing and disgusting experience. Here is my reasoning to your response or in other words to my “5 star rating”🥰 ps. I am the adolescent you lashed out at for no reason.

Beyond friendly staff, they always have a smile on their face when I walk in. The store has pretty much everything you could be looking for and so much more. Really good with plants and plant tips! Definitely recommend checking it out!

The customer service was absolutely appalling, confirming all the negative reviews on here. The owner's unprofessionalism was beyond belief, from her manners to her language. (If you can’t already tell by her responses on here), It was truly disgraceful. I strongly advise against spending your money here and suggest looking elsewhere where professionalism and respect are prioritized. It's unbelievable that she calls herself an owner without any sense of shame, if possible I’d give it 0 stars.

Wish I read reviews then I would have understood how rude and ignorant worker/owner is. Was very happy and surprised they were open early Sunday morning and joked with a smile "must have ran here after service". As a senior citizen I am one who still greets and chats with all . Wow the rude tirade that followed from this woke Karen was completely off guard. Don't know how she derived from a single greeting that I was dissing her religion and being political. Those quoted words are the exact words I spoke. I tried to offer apologies as perhaps she might have misunderstood. No intelligent reteric just miserable hate fueled, trirate with her screaming at me.

Unbearable. Inappropriate. Disappointing as an understatement. Do not enter this shop. I went to explore with my husband this week and the environment went from sad to horrific very quickly. We heard screaming, I wish I was exaggerating but screaming from outside, given it’s a glass door it’s not hard to hear but as the sound approached as did a very extremely distraught little girl and a seemingly cruel caretaker. She yelled at the young lady at the counter to take her break as her child was very upset and “this had been her day forever.” Then something about the little one not wanting to be at grandmas, so the caretaker brought her into work. It’s no problem and totally understandable to do so. But throwing her child into the store and screaming at the absolute top of her lungs. I get that kids cry for all sorts of reasons, maybe they’re tired, want something or just need attention. But the way this little girl was crying was absolutely heartbreaking and unbearable. We couldn’t believe our eyes or ears and proceeded to leave the store distressed we couldn’t help the little one more.

I actually respect Hailey and get where she is coming from because it’s awful being rude to the person who is nice and kind and trying to help and being bullied like guys come on she is just trying to be successful in her business.

From the outside, it’s easy wonder what could be in such a small lil store ?..Turns out, a lot of handy things exist in there & are reasonable priced.Not only do they do dollarstore stuff but they’ve got the good kind of incense, glassware (?) , pretty sure I saw house plants in there, torches, battery banks, I even picked up some weird sunglasses perfect for raving from here at one point to my surprise.Every time I need something random, I usually check this store first before venturing out to where all the people are.Thanks for being an awesome lil store!

I am absolutely DISAPPOINTED and DISGUSTED BY by the owners actions today.Not only did she ASSAULT a minor by throwing his change at him IN THE FACE! but she recorded a bunch of minors for WHAT. because she doesnt like kids!?! I Hope she enjoys her short term ownership of a dam looney store because she has assault charges coming her way!!! Good luck Hillary.
