After buying a new pc with windows 11 on it a few months ago i recently realized i couldn't play some of my old games on it. After trying a bunch of things to no avail i called memory express in the ne where i purchased the computer and was told they couldn't help me. I decided to try the Dalhousie location where i had purchased my laptop and spoke with Angela in service and was given a lesson in what excellent customer service really is. She was patient and kind, professional, extremely knowledgeable and more helpful than i could have ever dreamed. She asked lots of questions about what i had done to fix the issue and eventually suggested i bring my tower in and she could have a look. In a short period of time she had it all figured out and patiently waited while i took notes so i could apply it to other games i had at home. She then helped me with another purchase i wanted to make and i was on my way. Absolutely the best customer service i have ever had! (And I'm old :/ ) Thanks so much Angela! I truly appreciated all your help and can't thank you enough!!!

I had an issue with my R5 7600X overheating. Initially, I thought my air cooler couldn't keep up with the CPU, so a couple of months later, I bought a 240mm AIO and installed it myself. Despite bench testing multiple times, I was reaching 95°C temps. I reinstalled the cooler several times to ensure everything was correct, and I even checked to make sure I had removed the plastic from the AIO.
Frustrated and not finding a solution, I contacted Memory Express. Since I still had a one-year warranty, I brought my CPU, motherboard, and air cooler to the store. They assured me they would fix the issue. After a day, they called to say they couldn't find any problems. When I visited, they showed me the CPU running under 90°C. They said they just cleaned and reassembled it and suggested that faulty drivers might be causing the issue.
At home, I reinstalled my motherboard and still experienced the problem. Under 100% load, my CPU reached 95°C with the air cooler and above 92°C in games. Suspecting faulty drivers, I factory reset everything and reinstalled my Corsair iCUE LINK H100i RGB 240mm Liquid CPU Cooling System. Still, the issue persisted.
Memory Express couldn't help, and I noticed my R5 7600X was drawing 120W at 100% load, while they claimed it was stable at 105W using some cheap apps. My CPU also slowed down after I got it back from them. Through research, I realized I needed to stabilize my CPU voltage by undervolting it. After undervolting, I managed to keep my CPU under 90°C and under 80°C in games, and my CPU performance improved significantly.
Memory Express suggested sending the CPU to the manufacturer if the issue persisted, which would have taken about five weeks. They didn't mention undervolting as a solution. Therefore, I don't recommend going to Memory Express for Ryzen CPUs. Undervolting fixed my issue, and my CPU is now faster and more stable than before.
Conclusion: If you're experiencing overheating issues with your Ryzen CPU, consider undervolting as a potential solution before resorting to lengthy and potentially unnecessary RMA processes. This could save you time and improve your system's performance and stability.

Dalhousie Memory Express is the best computer parts/tech store I've ever been to. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and do their best to make your experience a good one. The staff also looks out for you, in the case of a customer in front of me in line who was buying parts for their first computer build, the rep recommended a wrist tether to prevent static buildup from damaging his new components and system. Fantastic store, would highly recommend!

I’ve been coming to Memory Express in Dalhousie for at least the last 5 years, and it has always been a fantastic experience. Chris Ma, who I’ve had help me more than a few times has always been so informative, resourceful, and even helped me and a friend pick the parts to build our custom PC’s and made it so easy for us. For good deals, great return policies, and even better support, I am a big fan of Memory Express :)

Just wanted to share my appreciation for Tyler and team. I wanted to build a kick @ss AI/gaming PC that could easily handle multiple high end video cards. I had parts in mind but Tyler helped fine tune it all and although I wasn't planning on buying the second video card today, the team made sure it would fit and function when I do, from case size, to power supply to ram speed and cores to maximize throughput. I've since put it through the paces completely pinning the RTX 4090 and it's all running nice and cool.

I stopped in recently because I needed a usb-c charger for my laptop. My Lenovo Legion has a backup means of charging via usb-c while it sleeps so you don't have to lug a giant 300W brick while traveling. When I explained what I was looking for I was basically told it wouldn't work. I explained to him I did the research and it would and I got a "well you can buy it but I don't think it's going to work" which is funny because I bought this laptop from the same location and that was one if its selling points.
So I put the footwork in to try and support the good 'ol brick n' mortar, but in the end Amazon Prime bailed me out, I got it today and like magic, it charged my laptop.
Three stars because I've been shopping here for fifteen years and this is only the second bad experience I have had.
