What a pleasant shopping experience my friend and I had today! All the ladies are friendly, helpful and fun to talk to. Love Roots’ materials for being so soft and environmental conscious. Look forward to visit again next time we visit Canada!

My husband brought pajamas for me on Valentines’ Day but they were too big for me; in fact, they fit him as he is a men’s XL & I am a women’s XL. He brought them back to them with the tags and receipt. He was upset because he was told they were a women’s XL when clearly they were not. I was also surprised that he paid $80 which isn’t a clearance price. I think they are ripping off customers & do not value the experiences of working people who are honest. We are both avoiding this store now and gave our friends and acquaintances the advice to steer clear of the Southcentre store. When we go into the mall now we steer right instead of going left into the Roots store. There are at least four customers & more to come that will not grace your doors anymore. When he tried to reach someone to resolve this, he got an email of corporate offices in Toronto. Why don’t they get it that a loyal customer wants to be treated like a human being & believe their story.

I bought Valentine’s Day pajamas for my wife here from the Southland store. I paid $80 for a clearance item but asked if the XL item was a women’s size and was told yes, so I bought it. When she tried them on they were too big for her, so I guessed it was a men’s size. I tried them on myself & they fit me. So I was misled & this is why they were on the clearance rack, I guess. I went back to the store & told them that I was told a wrong size but to no avail. They will stick to their no returns policy even if they misled their customers. If this store ever wants me to grace their doors again, I expect them to honour their customers above their “set-in-stone” policies. Now I am stuck with women’s pajamas that are my size. If there is a manager who cares about customer service, contact me.

It’s difficult to find a size for my husband who stands 6ft 1 1/2 inc tall with broad shoulders in Roots, particularly in hoodies. It’s either short in the arms or riding up at the back. I only have 15 mins to exchange our green original relaxed full zip hoodies which was our favorite, No more available sizes . But good thing Madisson and Cris were on the floor yesterday, and were able to find me hoodies for both of us under 15 minutes! They were both very accommodating and friendly. Thank you!

Walked in on one of the busiest days, Boxing Day, and I was greeted by a lovely woman named Lori, I asked her what sizes the hoodies come in, I told her what size I was looking for, and Lori went above and beyond looking at all the hoodies in my size I needed, she got up on the top shelf’s, she even suggested that they can order one in for me. Her professionalism, her customer service and her desire to help was exceptional. I hope Lori sees this review and or her manager passes it down to her, because she was absolutely a pleasure to be greeted and helped by. Thank you Lori! Keep up the great work!-S

Assistant Manager was unfriendly and gave us a very negative experience. We will never shop here again. I understand the return policy, but I drove 40 minutes with a 2 year old just to make a return with tags all attached and receipt in hand. I had my husband’s credit card to the same account, but one number off and they would not let me put it back on his card because it was not the exact same card. I asked if I could call him, he could send a picture, if they could make an exception as I had a crying 2 year old and drove 40 minutes to make this return. It was very disheartening that the assistant manager wasn’t even kind about it and was very rude to us without showing any empathy. It is a Canadian company AND a Christmas gift with all of the tags AND receipt!! Like I said, I understand, but don’t agree with the policy, but it was the costumer service that was brutal.

I had the best shopping experience yesterday while looking for specific products with specific fibre content. Salesperson Jaime has extensive knowledge of the product lines, and cheerfully brought an assortment of styles and colours, offered advice when asked, and patiently kept checking back with me while I conferred with my daughter by text.Ultimately, we were successful, and I was so impressed with the attitude and service, I had to leave a glowing review, which is a very rare occurrence. Thanks, Jaime!

So glad I drove 40 min from the north of the city for a product your website said was in stock (only store that had some) to be turned away by the sales associate as “they don’t have any and to try again in September” followed by her turning and walking away. No letting me show her the product and that it was showing online, no offering something similar, no apologies for wasting my time … nothing!

Great customer service!! Best of all i get a lot of my clothes here as the majority of the product is all cotton. Very comfy, all natural fibre.
