The lady at self check out accuses me and my roommate of stealing every time we go in because we shared a basket no wonder superstore is stealing all of your business maybe if every one under the age of 60 is constantly berated by the staff you need new staff

Great customer service. I was looking for some corn on the cob so I asked an employee if he might know where I could find it. The employee said he would check in the back. He came to me with 2 packages.

It's a Safeway, perhaps on the smaller end of average as Safeway stores go. Nevertheless, it's as well stocked and efficiently staffed as you might expect.
Nothing to complain about. But...
It's always a little bit quiet there. Unusually so.
Or perhaps it's not that it's actually less busy, but that the people who shop there are quieter, or less animate--something like that. I don't know...
Let's put it this way:
There's a quality to the atmosphere that I find difficult to explain. It's surreal, a bit unsettling, and remains unfamiliar regardless of how many times I've ended up there in search of ketchup (of all things...I don't even like ketchup...?)
Okay -
If David Lynch had made a particularly unmemorable black and white film about a guy with tall hair lost in a grocery store back in the 80's, this would be the set. Exactly that feeling.
And hey, that goes for the rest of Montgomery too. Some of you know exactly what I mean, amirite?
