I had a very disappointing experience at your store today. I had trouble weighing potatoes at the self-checkout because the item could not be found in the system. When I asked for help, the staff member assigned to the self-service area did not come over to assist me. Instead, she remained at her station and spoke to me from a distance, simply telling me to “put it down,” without checking the item or attempting to resolve the issue.
Her attitude felt dismissive and unhelpful, as if she was trying to manage the situation remotely rather than providing proper customer service. This lack of effort and professionalism made the experience frustrating and unpleasant.
Because of this interaction, I felt discouraged from returning to this store. If this is the level of service being provided, I would rather shop elsewhere, such as Walmart.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve customer service going forward.

I had a great shopping experience at Safeway in Westbrook Shopping Centre.
The store is clean, well-organized, and everything is easy to find. The aisles are tidy, products are fresh, and there’s a good variety of groceries and daily essentials.
The staff are friendly, polite, and always willing to help when needed, which really makes a difference. Checkout was smooth and efficient, and the overall atmosphere was calm and comfortable.
A reliable and pleasant place for grocery shopping — I definitely recommend it.

I like this Safeway it's like a friendly community, I never felt like I didn't belong considering I'm indigenous. Alot of places act like I don't belong but here it's like part of the family

Expensive. No one greets you. Multiple staff at self checkout doing nothing while all tills closed for service. So you have to do all the work and staff just stare at you. Walmart is cheaper and better service

I visited the Safeway in Westbrook Mall last Friday to fill two helium balloons in the floral section. A very sweet lady named Enmanuela helped us with the balloons — they were Bluey and Bingo, my daughter’s favorites. She was so excited, but suddenly Bingo floated up to the very high ceiling of the store.
We were so sad, but Enmanuela acted quickly. She ran to get a ladder and even called another staff member who brought a special extension tool to reach the balloon. Thanks to their effort, we were able to rescue Bingo!
I am truly grateful for the kindness, patience, and teamwork they showed us. It made us feel listened to, appreciated, and supported. Moments like this remind me why Safeway Westbrook Mall will be our favorite supermarket in the area. Happy client, happy party!

Julia in the floral department is amazing. She was able to do our wedding flowers for a great price and I couldn’t be more happy with how they turned out. If you are looking for custom floral arrangements that are Pinterest worthy : She is your gal!

Today I had a wonderful experience with Julia in the floral department, she was extremely knowledgeable, and took the time to look at pictures and help diagnose one of my problem plants at home. She explained a lot about each plant I looked at. I bought two plants. The prices are excellent for great quality house plants at Safeway they are frequently putting different types and sizes on sale. I’m very happy with my choice to shop at Safeway. I should also state the produce lasts longer than anything I’ve purchased at other stores.

Very good bakery, very good catering, very clean and tidy, but... very grumpy and impatient cashiers! They never say hello, they even never answer your greetings!

Very bad customer service especially the lady controlling self check out.She accused me of not scanning a Candy in front of my kids, when she double ckecked my bag she found her self guilty. I returned what I purchased and made a complaint to the customer service. I'll never shop at this store again.

Was in your Westbrook store about 1:00 today and was very upset to see a woman with her dog in the store. Another customer told her she could not have her dog in a grocery store and she told him it was too hot to leave her dog in the car. A staff member was asked and we were told that she thought it was allowed now.
I checked the internet and it says that Calgary Safeway stores are not dog friendly. Maybe this is a discussion for a staff meeting.
