One of the greediest companies out there. Every year they raise your rates even though you have no claims no tickets no anything. Their greed can’t be satisfied. They wine about having to pay out so much money yet keep recording record profits how can that be. Abound this greedy company. If your a good driver your insurance should be going down every year not up

Absolutely Ridiculous Experience — Now I Understand the Bad Reviews
Now it all makes sense after reading the long list of horrible reviews.
I’ve been working with a broker (who I won’t name because they’ve actually been helpful) to secure commercial auto insurance. After a painful back-and-forth with Travelers Insurance, I finally received a quote for my half-ton pickup. During the process, my business began growing rapidly, which meant I needed to upgrade to a diesel one-ton truck (3500 series) — something very common in the industry.
Here’s where the absurdity begins: Travelers refuses to insure the 1-ton truck because I don't have experience driving one — despite the fact that both the 1500 and 3500 can be legally driven with a regular Class 5 license. They operate the same: accelerator, brakes, turn signals. The only real difference is I now use diesel instead of gas. That's it.
This isn’t a Class 3 or Class 1 commercial vehicle that requires special licensing. It’s a pickup truck. The logic simply doesn’t hold up, and I’m left wondering if the underwriters actually understand the vehicles they’re declining to insure.
Even my personal insurance provider had no problem issuing coverage so I could at least bring the truck home. Travelers, on the other hand, seems to rely on policy restrictions that make no practical sense.
Reading through other reviews, it’s clear I’m not alone. Responding to reviews just to “show action” without fixing the underlying issues is pointless. It’s either complete ignorance or incompetence at the underwriting level.
I honestly don’t know how this company is still in business if this is how you treat small business owners trying to do things the right way.

Without asking for clarification, they said 6 deficiencies are not covered, despite the fact that one of the deficiencies is a health and safety issue and the other is moisture damage .

An absolute nightmare!!! There should be a 0 star option! I was only with them for a year. I switched immediately. They are the most unprofessional, unjust company I've ever dealt with! They do not respond to your emails or phone calls, just leave you hanging for weeks on end! They do everything possible to deny you and do not listen when you provide additional information to further the investigation! A complete waste of money. Stay as far away from Travelers as possible!

If you love headaches, hate yourself and enjoy having policies canceled for incompetence this is the insurance company for you!
Ever wonder how many redundant letters it takes to kill a small forest? Heck travellers has you covered. Do you enjoy playing wheres my payment? Guessing whether or not your truly covered? All this and more at Travellers.

If I could give a negative rating I would, if you have an adjuster named Adrienne Daeninck please prepare yourself to have your claim not properly investigated and receive lazy and rude service. Not only did they not look at the police report regarding my car accident, she hung up on me when I asked why. -10/10.

Our experience with Travelers Canada has been nothing short of frustrating and unacceptable. We contacted them twice regarding the failing carpet in our newly built home, which was showing significant wear—carpet strands were coming loose, the stairs were falling apart, and walking on it sounded like stepping on crinkled chip bags. Despite these obvious issues, Travelers Canada denied our claim both times.
They even sent an “independent” carpet inspector, who conveniently found nothing wrong. Feeling dismissed, we decided to pursue the issue further and had a full investigation conducted by industry professionals, including representatives from the carpet and underlay manufacturers and a senior specialist. They thoroughly examined the carpet, collected fiber and glue samples, and performed detailed testing.
Two weeks later, we got the real answer—there was a confirmed reaction between the carpet and underlay. Without hesitation, the responsible parties took accountability and agreed to replace all the carpet in our home at no cost. That is what real customer service looks like. The full replacement is scheduled for the end of February.
Meanwhile, Travelers Canada failed us completely. They showed a lack of accountability, expertise, and willingness to do right by us as homeowners. Their handling of our claim was unprofessional, and given the undeniable evidence we now have, we deserve a formal apology. If you’re a homeowner dealing with Travelers Canada, don’t waste your time—go straight to the manufacturer, supplier, or, if necessary, seek legal action. Travelers Canada is not in the business of helping homeowners; they are in the business of denying claims.

They increased the cost of my wife's auto policy by $1000/ year. Didn't communicate or notify her of the change at all. No tickets or accidents. When she contacted them they said the price increase was due to inflation. Absolutely criminal. The owners of this company should be in jail. Would not reccomed at all.

If you want to spare yourself pain and genuine anguish, avoid at all costs. True scammers that don’t provide any notice of increase and are extremely late in providing pink slips. You have to chase them down for what you are rightfully entitled to. Please look at ALL other options before this one. Calling also gets you nowhere but an endless loop of horrible interactions. Safe yourself!

Recently had an accident coming back from Saskatchewan. The workers at the office helped me maneuver through the inter province stuff and had checks mailed out for compensation in absolutely record time.

I've had car insurance with them for almost 6 years in Alberta. I bought a new car and every insurance company I contact says I NEVER HAD INSURANCE IN ALBERTA. I am extremely furious and I'm trying to write this without cussing but oh boy! They NEVER answer, if they do they give you garbage responses. Stay away from these crooks! I'm at the point where I want to sue them.

Dealing with Travelers at the Calgary office has been an absolutely dehumanizing experience! We have gone through 5 agents in 1 year. Noone knows what they are doing. agents do not respond to emails or phone calls. Months go by and crickets. The latest agent we have has been rude and demeaning. We have been made to feel as if we are criminals and are trying to get "away " with something. We will not be renewing our policy this year. I'll be filling a complaint against 1 of your agents
