“My tire fell off near Canmore. It was the first day of our trip which had been 2 years in the making and my wife and kids were all sitting in a trailer in a roadside turnout, so I wanted to be back on track asap. Since it was Sunday evening, I had to guess who might be able to see me. I chose Little Garage. In the morning, I discovered that they had the full schedule that comes with being a great shop. However, Jake and the team worked hard to make it work. He cleverly and correctly guessed the needed parts so that they could be there that afternoon. They proposed alternatives and options to get me going quickly. They were great and I was on the road again the next morning. They were definitely doing me a favor by all this, and I am immensely grateful.

I particularly appreciated the nuanced approach Jake took to giving me options. He explained why less than ideal options were less than ideal and helped me decide what I wanted to do to get going quickly, vs things which were definitely unwise. He proposed and explained the best solutions without insisting on them. This is the key feature I look for in a good mechanic.

Waiting there I also saw him interact with several customers. He had a good way of drawing out the story of the issue to help him diagnose it before even looking at the vehicle.

“During Canada Day long weekend, we went to Johnson canyon. My battery showed issues indicating I had to change it. I went to CanadianTire in Canmore and they just show their fangs wanting to take advantage of my situation. First they said the “only available time was for the next Friday (we were on Saturday); second “they can sell me the battery so I can change it by my own. This for me was viable except that those abusive wanted to sell me the tools. I decided to go to call Napa and they not only offered my a wide variety of battery that fit my car’s requirements but also offer me their in house tools so that I could change it right on their parking lot. I want to say that this is the truly Canadian spirit, fairness and solidarity. Something that the low value Canadian tire’s worker lack of.”

They had us towed and our truck fixed in two days, even though we have been told it takes weeks in Canmore to get a car fixed.
