Our experience from dealing with Mohammed for a mortgage preapproval for our son, was very thorough as i wanted my my son to be part of the whole process. We had some minor issues dealing with the help line, however Justin Lalonde, the Branch manager, assisted us immediately. Justin has always been willing to answer any questions and assist us which is very much appreciated .

Been banking here for over 30 years and I have finally transferred out of here. Customer service isnt a thing, insane bank fees and zero give, all take.

About 6 months ago I booked appointment with a financial advisor named Chris unfortunately I forget his last name and can't find it now but I will . Long story short he is an absolute narcissistic self serving fill in the blanks ..he has given me the worst financial advice possible so much so that it destroyed my hard earned credit score. I can't believe I believed a single word that came out his mouth. So thank you Chris you singhandedly hurt a young entrepreneurs success I hope that make you happy!

Called and left a voicemail to inquire/apply for loans. No one called me back, even though I was very meticulous and repeated my message/phone number.Prior to this, when I also called Scotia's 1-800 line (seems their staff are not well versed on their loan products either). The one advisor kept referring to my inquiry as a car loan (which it was not, so we went in circles) and I got transferred to 3 different departments/advisors over the phone - none which could help me. Finally, I was told to call the Cochrane branch - which just lead to a dead end also. Disappointing to say the least.

Reading the others review I can feel better with "I'm not the only one" this branch is at very low customer satisfaction level. We are with Scotiabank since 1990, never late payment, no NFS , we sold three houses we closed three mortgages with no problem. For years we had a line of credit and we made the mistake to buy a truck in 2007 with money from line of credit. We paid interest for this purchase until we paid out the debit and closed this pain in neck line of credit in may 2022 when we sold our old house and purchased a small duplex in Cochrane. Debit free just a small credit card we decided to build a garage and apply to Scotiabank on 5-th Ave in Cochrane for a small loan. My wife and I we are retired and we can afford a payment for 2 years. And here is the end of the love story between Scotiabank and us. From $5000 per year interest on our line of credit because of the truck we end up free debit and the loan was turned down for the reason of slow payment, low credit score around 700 and no mortgage with Scotiabank. But we may apply for guess what a line of credit !!! You be the judge and draw a line this is not business is like somebody put his hand in your pocket. Do I recommend this branch ? NO way!

If I could give negative stars I would! This branch randomly stuck someone else’s defaulted loan on my credit report and despite my best efforts to get help removing it all I get is crickets. I have never had a product with Scotia Bank and for sure never will! They run ads about how Scotia loves to “help” and “listen” but both are obviously lies! It’s been almost 8 months of hell dealing with this blotch on my credit report through no fault of my own and no end in sight.

I had previously posted a review venting frustration at the reduced hours of service at the Cochrane branch as were listed on Google Maps. I was contacted by Justin Lalonde, the branch manager, who explained to me that the hours as listed on Google Maps were incorrect and they were working to correct the error. He called to assure me, a Scotiabank customer for many years, that they are open their regular hours and have staff available to help meet my needs. I was told that the correct hours are posted on the website. The wait times to speak to a customer service rep when using the 1-800 number can be ridiculously long, but if you're dealing with the people right at the branch they'll do their best to take care of you.

If I could issue zero stars I would. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I have 5 figures in funds in this bank which they will not let me access because they say I don't have a current bank card.. Well, who didn't issue me one! Correct, Scotia. The branch does not pick up the phone, head office say to call the branch and the complaints line says they are unable to take the call due to being too busy, so leave a message and they will get back to me. Yeah, nice one. FAIL.

Lorraine was very rude today. I simply asked for a VOID cheque or equivalent with a bank stamp on it and was shocked with how rude and short she was with me. I think she needed a day off and away from customers and other staff members as she also wasn’t very kind to her staff member who sat beside her. Not impressed. Thank you to the teller beside who kindly redirected Lorraine to actually help me.

Scotia bank owes me $300 (we’ll documented) after closing my accounts over the summer. After two months of waiting for them to send me the check they have now announced that they have lost my money and will not give me any timelines or any resolution in writing. I have been given a lot of runaround since the summer. Filing an investigation with consumer affairs alberta Monday morning.

This is the worst bank experience .not with just the branch but the bank as a whole . Scotia bank in just 1 word - fraud . They know how to trick you into remove money from the pocket and the worst part never respond to the calls . I don’t even feel like giving 1 star . I already start transferring all my bank dealings with another bank now . Ohh man . You guys do such a terrible and worst job .

Even after banking at this branch 30 years, staff seems to disappoint me more each time! Rude, disrespectful tellers, treat customers like they’re nothing. Should’ve switched a long time ago.

Asked for help with my Scotia Bank Visa and was told to call Visa directly. There was no one else here in the branch on a Saturday morning. I know the bank teller could have ordered a replacement because they have done that before. It seemed like she couldn't be bothered.
