In spite of all of Area Manager Annik’s help, Brown’s let me down one final time in this journey.
The store didn’t have my size on the 28th so they ordered a pair for me. On the 30th I got an email saying the order was delayed. I didn’t hear back from them again until the 3rd when I reached out to them again and emailed their customer support department to check in (since it had been a week since the order had been placed).
They wrote back saying the shoes had already been delivered to the store.
I checked my Inbox and Junk mail folders and had not received any communication indicating that the shoes had arrived.
This process started on August 14… 3 full weeks for a simple shoe exchange on a product that Brown’s is an “authorized dealer” to represent.
While I appreciate the efforts of the area manager, the 1-star rating is accurate for Brown’s as a store.
Update: 08/28/24
Area Manager Annik had reached out to me following my last update and we agreed to meet at the Kingsway location today. She was very helpful and was able to provide a replacement pair of shoes. Thank you so much Annik! I do appreciate it.

Bought a pair of Dr. Marten’s and had a crack in the sole develop within the 1 year warranty period. Brought back to the store since they are an “authorized “ dealer for Docs. They sent me to the Doc store in the mall to see if they would help me. The Doc store sent me back to Browns since I bought them there. The manager at browns tried to send me back to the Doc store a second time to ask again since browns doesn’t have a 1 year warranty on their products. I told him that the store was now closed for the day so I could not go back again. He said he would check with his manager and get back to me.
I would have thought that the point of being an authorized dealer was that they are authorized to not only sell product, but also provide the customer service the warranty policy outlined… if not, what is the point of shopping at an authorized dealer?
I guess I’ll wait and see if the store calls back… but so far I’m not impressed with the back and forth between stores.
Update: 08/20/24
Contacted the Customer Support team as requested in their response to my initial post and they assured me that a manager would be calling me to discuss this situation.
Still have not spoken with a manager.
(I did have a missed call from a number I didn’t recognize while I was at work on 08/16/24, but there was no voicemail left. Later, when I googled the number, it came up as the number for the West Ed store, but since there was no voicemail left I didn’t know who to ask for if I were to call back. Not sure why they wouldn’t leave a quick voicemail with a name and number to call them back…)
It has been about 5 days since my review and a couple days longer than that since the manager at the West Ed location promised a call to resolve the matter.

I used to love going here to find shoes, but last time I visited last week to look for work appropriate shoes, I had 3 different workers trying to help me which was confusing. The last one to help me, Prabhpreet, gave me silent attitude when I changed my mind on a pair and opted for another pair. I still made a purchase and it was a more expensive shoe than the last one I looked at so I don’t know what the deal was. I’m coming in to return the shoe I bought since I didn’t wear them, they don’t seem to be what I really want and I can’t give money to a place that hires people with such nasty attitude. I’m taking my business elsewhere unless something is fixed in there, it never used to be this bad.

I was there for the adidas shoes but those were so popular so it turned out they didn’t have my size and I could not even order them online.
It’s worth mentioning that a girl named Yaryna was extremely patient and helpful, and trying so hard for me to find dups and everything she could help me with.
I could not be more grateful and impressed! Many thanks to her and I love her smile. I will definitely buy from her again.

I had some issues with my winter shoes purchased at the Browns and I wasn’t sure if it is possible to find any solution in this case. But BELAL DENI, showed himself as highly customer oriented worker! He immediately brought my case to managers attention and did everything possible to solve my problem! Thank you so much, Belal!!! I had an outstanding experience at Browns Shoes, thanks to the exceptional service provided by the manager, Belal. From the moment I walked in, Belal was incredibly welcoming and attentive. He went above and beyond to help me find the perfect pair of shoes, offering knowledgeable advice and ensuring I was completely satisfied with my purchase.
The store itself had a great selection of stylish and high-quality footwear, but it was Belal's dedication to excellent customer service that truly set this shopping experience apart.

I went in last week on a weekday night and not one sale person greeted me after being in there for about 5 mins. I thought at one point a sales person instructed someone to help me but that person just went to the till. There were at least four sales people leaning on the front desk and talking to one another. I made eye contact and smiled with two to three sales people, which made me think they would come over to assist but walked out when no one came.

Never in my life have I felt more objectified and disrespected as a customer in any store. The behaviour of multiple employees, such as an older gentleman with a grey moustache in a grey suit, who made no effort to approach me or help me while I wanted 15 minutes to even ask to try on the shoes I had come here specifically looking to purchase, pointed at me thinking I wasn’t aware and made a comment about me to his colleague, which was absolutely horrendous and insulting. I will not be returning to a browns store ever in my life. They should take less care of decorating their cheap looking show rooms and move their mannerless employees elsewhere, because they make the mediocrity of wem even more palpable in their store.

I bought shoes for my husband and for my son last dec. one of the shoe heel is falling off. Manager is so nice they order the shoes right away..customer service is excellent..☺️

West Edmonton mall Browns is awesome. They are very accommodating and truly care about their customers. The manager and staff are kind and super helpful. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I bought a pair of boots and a pair of shoes at west end location, A young beautiful friendly lady helped me to find what I like, her name was Nikoo, she was very patient kind polite :) I love my boots very comfortable and warm :)I had a great experience at that location:)

I purchased a pair of Sorel boots today at the WEM Brown’s location. Great boots at a great price, but what made my shopping experience exceptional was the service provided by a young lady named Sim whose courteous and helpful manner was the best I’ve experienced in decades.
