Not an impressive business. Banfield has great pet packages but we can never get an in room appointment and usually the experience is terrible. We have only been to one banfield where the technicians and docters have been nice and that is Chandler/ Riggs. Our first experiences were in Ahwatukee. It took forever to get our appointment. They kept trying to get me to drop my dog off. My crazy rescue chiweenie has anxiety, needs to be sedated and muzzled so I pleaded for an in room appointment because they can never get him out of the cages in the back. Also, I don't want the techs to have to deal with my crazy dog. I was a vet tech for 9 years....I get it.The entire staff was unprofessional and rude from the very beginning. I was told by the vet that I needed to be nicer to his techs...which was quite dumbfounding as I informed the techs that I would gladly muzzle my dog for them. So don't offer to help with your own pet... I guess that is mean. They learned pretty quick that my dog was a handful. I'll never go back there. That tech needs to be educated on behavior before she gets bit for not listening to owners who KNOW their pets better than anyone. The staff doesn't read history on any pet because if they did, they would know my pet is a handful. Also, they call back the next day to check on your pet which is nice but they always pronounce mine and my dogs name incorrectly....also calling my dog a spayed female. Bogey is a dude. When they call they don't even know why...they just ask if the dog is ok. They should review the cases before the call but just my opinion.Banfield has one thing going for them... good prices per month. Vet and technician turn over seems to be high at all Banfield hospitals and customer service is lacking.

This has been such an extremely frustrating process. I can't even write a review about the vet techs or how they are in person because everytime I schedule with them they mess up my scheduling each time and then don't accommodate it. Then when I reschedule they mess up that one as well and continue to make me change my time instead of seeing me when I scheduled my appointment for. My puppy is in desperate need of her second round of vaccines and they have now pushed back seeing her 2 months later than the original time! I'm not sure who is messing up on their end but they have wasted my time and money.

I and my fur baby are on vacation, she got injured. I have been with Banfield for over 22 years. And pay every month, and have been doing so for 22 years. I called all over AZand not a one of Banfield office would take her in on emergency medical care. And yes it was a emergency. I had to take her to another hospital and I had to leave her. That just how bad her injury was. I don't know if anyone else has experience this kind of treatment, however, I will not be renewing. If you add up what you pay every month it's not worth it. Just put to the side with you pay every month and you will save money.I WILL NOT BE RENEWING!

A friendly and kind staff, helping us take care of our little pack with preventative medicine, and some easy grooming for our (usually) fussy one. Very happy clients.

Truly an amazing place.Their love and care is palpable. We trust them for our pets.Gratitude for their health plan that allows us to pay a fraction of the value to run all the screening tests and be reassured regarding the health of our pets.

After 19 years of being a loyal Banfield Wellness Plan customer, the past 4 years have found me defending the service to others. I now also think this is a waste of money. Two years ago my dog got a parasite and upon calling my home Banfield I was told the soonest I could get her in was two weeks out. She would not have made it during that time. I took her to a different Banfield location, which was a benefit of this service and decided to keep going with this subscription. Fast forward to this year and we are on summer vacation and accidentally left our flea and tick RX at home. I called our home Banfield, they were unable to help me as I was out of state, I called a local Banfield where I was staying in California, they also were unable to help me unless I wanted to bring my dog in for a visit for the prescription that had already been written less than 1 month ago, and they were able to see all of my dog's records and knew this. They said they needed to see the dog but we're unable to get her in until 26 days from now. As we are traveling that also is now completely unhelpful. Why am I paying $60 a month??? Years ago this used to be such a helpful service; we knew our vet and our vet knew our dog, getting an appointment within 24 hours was the norm, the staff was kind and helpful, but now it's turned into just another corporation that does not seem to remember what customer service is. New vets every other minute and a months wait to get in! Bye Banfield! We will find a local vet where we are at the very least not just another number.

This is a great pet vet. The lack of a fifth star is because they are not easy to get in like they were before. Also, I would not call it a hospital since it is not open very late and they are closed some days. They are reasonably priced if you pay for their insurance plan, otherwise they are a bit on the expensive side. As for their employees they are very loving to their patients and always explain and answer all questions.

If you love your pets, don't take them here please! I just had to make the hardest decision to put my dear Rex down yesterday. I had to spend $800 at an emergency facility because Banfield doesn't provide emergency services. Rex was enrolled in an "Optimum Wellness Plan" where I pay monthly for covered preventative care and also diagnostics. Today I was told that I would need to continue to pay the monthly payment until the 12 month period ends, even though Rex has died. They explained that it's because the $500 I paid so far don't cover the $900 in care he received so far this year." The plan is such a scam. No one ever explains to you that you are actually running up a tab when they do all these tests, etc that are "covered." They were also always extremely difficult to get an appointment. Always like 3+ weeks out. They always wanted me to bring Rex in too for an exam before they would fill his insulin prescription. I guess to run up the tab. I love you Rex. I'm sorry I didn't choose a better vet ?.

Nurses are friendly don't get me wrong. My exp is related to the plan that Banfield offers. I pay 45/ dog and there is no available appt time in the entire phoenix metro era for the next two months! To me, that's 180$ waste of money. On top of that every visit we don't get any results without lab exams which cost extra! And in most of the case I need to bring my dog some where else and pay for visit out of my pocket then why I'm paying for plan??♂️?♂️?♂️

Seemed overworked and understaffed. They did not instill enough confidence for me to bring my dogs there. I chose another veterinarian

As a pet parent we labor over the choice of care just like we do for our own offspring. As I moved thru the list of providers once we brought home our 3 adopted kittens I was overwhelmed. I was met with several "we are unable to take new clients, at this time". All related to staffing. By happened chance I called this random Riggs road Banfield and was met with the most pleasant individual. I did attempt A call to the location in my town first...it was not a good experience...For those that know banfield, please read further....it's not the typical PetsMart back of the store version. Not all banfields are created equal....trust me....My babies were registered for a new patient appointment immediately. I arrived to the Riggs Road Banfield on our appointment date, met with the same pleasant greeting as the scheduler on the phone. Intake was swift and rooming was on time. Although all staff were crazy busy with other fur babies & their parents, all were pleasant and engaging. Facility was really clean, considering the client base and the experience was the best. Let's be realistic, pet care is costly.....do not expect low anything. I was met with kind, knowledgeable staff, post check up information was thorough and received a check up call 24 hours after visit. If you want an involved care team this location offers just that. It's tucked away in a corner of a Fry's store parking....a stand alone clinic in the far southeast valley, worth the drive...(ours is 27 minutes) for any pet parent investing in their new or current family member check this location.

The staff and doctors are very compassionate and thorough with my dog. They also have time for me on the phone for questions or concerns. Their Pet insurance is a must! Thank you for helping my pug.

Well, the STAFF and Dr Robinson were great. They helped us help our cat Yaak over the rainbow bridge in the most compassionate way possible when her pain finally got too much. But cremation is pricey, especially if you want your specific pet cremated "themselves" and not with other people's pets. It's a very hard time, and it would be great if they could soften that blow.

This is, by far, the best Banfield I have ever been to. I've been taking my dogs here for about 3 years. They always get to see the same vets and it's obvious they care deeply for all of their patients. It's a bonus that this is a stand alone location; I hated having to go through a Petsmart to get to Banfield.
