Two stars because of cost otherwise one star for students with special needs. I second the other review: emails not answered promptly and learning on your own. there is an on campus center that handles students with special needs. Unfortunately, the outside service we hired can only meet virtually, which only made matters worse. Learn how to unlock assignments before it's too late! learn how to navigate canvas in the other areas of the websites. Perhaps this review is more of a referendum on remote, virtual learning. The student services center was helpful, but it was like pulling teeth to get an academic advisor before enrollment. I welcome comments to the contrary for students on the spectrum.

Why does this campus look so old? It seems like a good college in an affluent area, yet all of the bathrooms need to be remodeled (some have torn up floors, holes in the wall, black spots on the floor, no mirrors, only two stalls for a large student population), the buildings need paint (or to be rebuilt), it seems the entire campus is in need of a refresh. Why haven't they done incremental updates over the past 30 years?

Ordered a book and had it shipped to me. Their return policy states return before 2 days. By the time it got to me it was well past the 2 days, i tried to go about returning it, or maybe have them buy it off me, but no. Books i wanted to order were never in stock, even after a semester still isn't in stock. If your buying a book for class, check amazon first since they're more lenient on their return policy. But nice facility though

Do not go here unless you want to teach yourself. This is not true for every course, but in all 3 of my math-related courses I have taken here, the teachers split you into groups with no lecture, note-taking, or explanation of the subject matter. In your group, you need to try and figure it out, the teacher will briefly point out other students' work that was right, and then move on. I personally spoke with the head of the math department, wondering why I can't get straight answers, examples, or lectures from my teacher and she said that "self-discovery" is proven to work better. And that giving a direct example won't allow me to learn. It is apparently the responsibility of me and my peers to teach one another. Not to mention, my astronomy teacher, Dr. Teresa Ashcraft has not responded to any of my questions emailed in over a month. She said she would g over my questions with me in a zoom meeting, and then blew me off for the meeting and I have not heard from her since (it has been over a week, and the course ends in 4 days.) I am transferring to ASU before my associate's degree is fulfilled because I am so fed up with CGCC. I don't even know what the professors are getting paid for. Luckily, the tutoring center is extremely helpful, no thanks to the staff though, because you guessed it! My fellow students are the tutors.

I enrolled my son in Calc 1 with Mr. Guess over summer '22. He is 12 years old and had just graduated high school, so I was worried. We applied and registered with ease. Tammy Day in the disability office helped to set my son up with services and scheduled a tour with us so we both knew where everything was and felt comfortable before day 1. My son loves Mr. Guess. He says this class is the best math class he has ever had. The students get shorter lectures, everything needed is on line, and in class they work in groups applying the math concepts in real world scenarios. The course is well planned and the work load manageable. The testing center staff were nice. One even handed us his business card and told us if my son had any issues or needed help, to come let him know and he would help. Financial aid has been awful. We had Mesa CC as our primary school so the ball has been in their court. I applied 12 weeks ago (end of April). My son graduated May 19. It's the end of June and Mesa CC just decided that CGCC will be our primary school just for summer and handle our FASFA and special review. Hoping this goes quickly as I should already be purchasing books for Fall and I am struggling with gas to get him to and from school as I have cash paid for his classes/books here and his sister's class/lab fee/book at Mesa CC. I have faith since any questions we have had here have been immediately answered. Overall, I would recommend CGCC to anyone wanting to take classes. The staff are kind and helpful and the instructors are great.

Ludicrous institution. Subpar professors, lack of mentorship to young adults. Many are there only for a paycheck and don't mind gossiping to other employees, don't care whether you pass or fail but would much rather have you fail as that is less work for them and an easy pay-day. Not a social environment.

I come here all the time, because my eldest son comes here the Chandler Early College High School. It is an extension of the Hamilton High School and it's Chandler and Gilbert Unified School District. Classes are usually smaller, but more focused on students need for sure since it's a small group of students. It's more one on one with students learning. Credits are earned faster and can definitely benefit the future of the students, because you also can earn some college credits already depending on the classes taken. My son attended this school for 4 year and proud to announce that he will be graduating soon in May :) I'm very thankful for the small campuses schools like this, because the big schools just don't work for my son. He doesn't like the environment on the big High School campuses. This location is part of the College, but it's a separated building on the Far East Side - JAV. ***Thank you Teachers for pulling through the pandemic and everything above all, thank you for being you!
