Moved here from an Encantada property in Tucson AZ and soon realized a bunch of small annoyances. I got a newly renovated 2BD2BR unit but its more of a facelift which isnt a big deal just the usual minor defects that were mostly repaired. The biggest downsides are the apartment isnt prewired with ethernet like other newer apartments so need to watch modem placement. The backlight mirrors are neat but notice after running for a while it gets hot so heats up the bathroom which already has insufficient vents to keep it cool. Speaking of which, the living room and non-master are much cooler than the master which has the same issue with lack of vent capacity. The windows also dont seem to block as much heat during the summer and its noticeably warm which compounds the warm master issue during the day. These must not have been modernized during the remodel and instead a carry over from the original building. Another annoyance is the 100/month amenity fee on top of rent..but kicker is this does not include the parcel locker which is its own fee to activate. So all in all seems like hidden fees on top of the advertised rent. Cant opt out so silly to have it this way other than to artificially decrease the price to be attractive. My unit comes with a garage which is nice for extra storage but there is a lack of ventilation so it does get a bit toasty during the summer days. Some plusses are that even though its next to the hospital i have yet to hear any ambulances or any noise from that side and its been nearly 3 weeks. Also very nicely located just <10 minutes from downtown chandler and around 25min to sky harbor. Overall not a bad place outside some small annoyances.
**Edit -1 star to cover more hidden fees when comes to parcel locker. gotta pay a fee after 3 days so better off just going to the post office. Its also been about a month and oof that energy bill is rough. HVAC is basically running every 10 minutes when set at 78 so its going to be expensive summers.
also you can ignore the owner response as its just some automated nonsense. i spoke my 2 cents and the office didnt really care and said yeah i know it stinks as a response to the fees. Its as expected and im not shy to voice my opinion. Also the cops are here like every week so idk what going on with some of the tenants.. had the chandler forensic unit here just last week along with 5 more cop cars so something fishy is happening in one of the units. that being said if you see a really really cheap unit near the hospital side... maybe this will be the one with a special surprise :)
I think overall i would just pass if i knew all this going into this. just disappointment after disappointment
**8/25/2025 update. Overall slow response to maintenance requests (1 week open with partial completion even after contacting office) and just constant headache with things not working as expected for a Luxury apartment.

I am an old resident of Laurel and on a shipping mistake one of my boxes ended up at my old apartment in Laurel. I called the office and Pablo told me he was going to contact me if someone surrender the package. I went this afternoon and Pablo helped me retrieve the package. Thanks Pablo for being super helpful.

We were really excited to move in and enjoy our retirement. When we walked through our first time we had needs that were deak breakers. I really enjoy living here! The grounds are clean, the amenities are great, and the apartments are modern and spacious. Most of the staff is helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, my interactions with Mandi, the manager, haven’t been positive. She often comes across as unprofessional and dismissive, which is disappointing given how nice the property itself is.

Beatrice and Pablo are awesome. They have gone above and beyond to answer any questions or issues we have. They are the reason this review is 5 stars.
Had a conversation when we moved in with the property manager, that has since left and the new manager won't hold up their end of the arrangement. Sad that policies change as manager do.

I’ve visited the office several times over the weekend, as those are my only days off, and I’ve repeatedly asked to speak with a manager. Unfortunately, there has never been a manager available during those times. During the week, when I do have some limited availability, I’ve noticed that Manager Mandi is often reported to be in meetings. However, it’s beginning to feel as though these meetings may be used to avoid resident interactions, which is frustrating when residents have concerns that need attention. Assistant Manager Pablo also appears to be consistently unavailable or too busy to speak.
On a positive note, I want to recognize Beatriz and Estella, who have both been incredibly kind and helpful during my visits. They’ve shown professionalism, patience, and a genuine willingness to assist, and I truly appreciate their support.

She has been so so helpful with any needs or requests including renting the clubhouse for events. She always has a smile on her face.

The Laurel is an awesome and beautiful community to live in. I had the absolute pleasure of working with our leasing consultant, Beatriz Silva and I can honestly say she made the entire leasing process not only smooth but genuinely enjoyable. From the very beginning, she welcomed us with such a friendly, warm, and inviting attitude and that never changed even after we moved in. Her patience, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile to make sure all of our questions were answered far exceeded our expectations. She handles every question or concern we bring up with such care and professionalism. Whether it’s a maintenance issue or just general help navigating community resources, she always listens with genuine interest and does everything she can to help and she follows through EVERY time. Her positive energy is contagious, and it’s clear she truly cares about helping people. You can tell she takes pride in what she does, and it shows in every interaction. What we appreciate most is how she makes us feel like more than just tenants. She makes us feel like family. She makes the entire community feel like home. If you’re lucky enough to have Beatriz Silva assist you, you’re in excellent hands.. It’s rare to find someone who treats residents with that level of respect and consistency. My boyfriend and I are looking for our first apartment. We loved the Laurel at first. We applied and then had to go through guarantors which was a whole process in itself. They quoted us a $1600 deposit with prorated rent and on top of that we would have to have paid the full amount of first months rent two weeks later which is just ridiculous. The reason why I wanted to rate this place so low is the communication was TERRIBLE. We heard different things from three different people. First we were told we were denied, then we were told we were accepted, THEN we were told the deposit was refundable which it was not. And lastly, we were told by Bea that we would be getting our $150 dollar deposit back within 1-5 business days only for us to call on the 5th business day and for them to blame us for the misunderstanding and that we heard her wrong when both of us in fact heard Bea say we would be getting a refund on the holding deposit. A big waste of time, skip this place and go somewhere where they know what they are talking about.

This apartment is everything I was looking for. From the feeling of community to the sense of security. The staff are truly the best, Pablo & Beatriz are a dream team. From her warm smile to Pablo’s tips & heads up (if you’re new to Arizona like I was)! So relatable, transparent and kind. From the signing of the lease, to the move in process and few concerns after, all my needs were met with empathy and compassion. Down to any maintenance request I had Henry and Stella were on it!
