About Cochise Stronghold
Cochise Stronghold is a very beautiful and gorgeous place with awesome rugged scenery in the Dragoon Mountains. It features huge rock mountains, beautiful trees, rocks, trails, and history as the ancestral homelands. It is a must-see near Willcox with great views and raw beauty. There are primitive camping spots and established campgrounds, making it one of the best Boondocking spots, though there is no water or electricity. Access is via a well-maintained dirt road with some washboard areas. A daily fee applies for non-campers. Visitors can enjoy hikes from the trail head, experiencing waterfalls and flowing washes after rain.

Beautiful trees, rocks, trails, history! We were here after a good rain and the washes were flowing nicely! A couple of waterfalls coming through the rock walls. Just gorgeous.

A very beautiful place with huge rock mountains. The road in is a well-maintained dirt road, except for a couple of washboard areas.

Having read some of the history about Cochise and his leadership of the Apache people, this was a preferred day trip. Awesome rugged scenery, we had a gorgeous day in the Dragoon Mountains.
