Beginning with our first inquiry regarding uboxes, Casey explained the Ubox process, reviewed uhaul moving products and usage, recommended helpful tips with the items we needed and made our rsvp. “I really hate to admit that I have been renting storage at this location for over a decade with one unit and at times a second unit for 2 years culminating in spending over 15,000 dollars. Looking back I wish I would have just got rid of the very expensive items which I intended to sell which now no matter how much I sell them for will never recoup the cost of ten years of storage. My bad! Live and learn.

I started with the original owner Kathy who was a sweetheart and kept the rates reasonable. When she sold it to Mark from Sterling accounting they raised the rent on the second unit but honored my original rate for the first unit. Robert was not a friendly manager yet when there were issues they were resolved with a call.

Last year corporate owners came in and even though they raised the rates they still gave me discounted rates and not the rack rate which I appreciated. The manager Matthew Hudson was a delight to deal with compared to previous management so I signed a rental agreement with them.

Yet this month they decided to raise the rent and make having insurance on the unit mandatory which would be an additional 11 dollars per month on top of the rent increase if you didn’t have some kind of renters or homeowners insurance.

After researching the insurance which does seem to be an industry standard the increases falling on the same month lit a fire under my butt to finally clear out the storage since I have a huge shed at my home now to store things in which I didn’t have when I was living full-time at Thousand Trails resort in an RV where they didn’t allow onsite storage unless you invested in an expensive storage shed. Note to other rvers in a similar position…just invest in the onsite shed it will be cheaper in the longgggg run.

Secondly if you really, really, really need to store something then go with Colombia Storage at the cottonwood location because even with the rent increases, I do believe their prices are the best for a safe location with an onsite manager and there are apartments right next to the storage units which feels safe to me. And having rented there for 10 years I never experienced any kind of theft.

Yet, the primary reason I would go with Colombia is because of the store manager Matthew because he was always friendly and responsive to my concerns and I could tell he really cared about me as a customer.

I realize Colombia probably doesn’t care whether I stay or go and because my rate was lower than the current rate they will just make more money from my departure.

With inflation being what it is, I am so grateful to not have to pay for storage any longer saving me over a thousand dollars a year yet I will miss Matthew who went above and beyond with his customer service.

On my final day in the unit when he came by to check to see that the unit was available to rent in clean condition where I had this one long Gazelle gazebo in a very long, heavy and unwieldy box which I couldn’t handle alone and without me even asking he helped me get it out of my unit and was so pleasant during the process.

Considering the challenging era we are now living in where even the local thrift stores don’t allow their employees to help you to the car with a purchase, I feel this was just amazing customer service. I greatly appreciated it because if it were not for Matthew helping me, I actually would have had to hire someone to help me to remove that item! I don’t know if he will ever see this review yet if he does, I want him to know what a difference he makes with his work by simply being kind and going the distance for Columbia’s customers!

“Lock & Roll Self Storage in Clarkdale AZ was perfect for our storage needs. We chose it sight-unseen from the internet, and were at first confused by the receipt showing a Phoenix address and the phone reps being in Utah. But the facility is truly in Clarkdale and worthy of such a beautiful, quiet residential community. It looks attractive, and we were pleased with the security features. The on-site manager, Rosindo, was exceptional in his hospitality and assistance. Phone rep Christine was pleasant and helpful. The owner, Jeff, personally corrected a problem when I told him about it. On top of all that, the price was reasonable. “I've had a somewhat of a not good experience living here the last year it office staff is good but the rules and privacy is lacking for individuals go around recording people’s property and trailers and vehicles and in the middle of the night walk around your trailer the rules that are signed in the office to have your dog on a leash at all times is not followed picking up after your dog is not followed. Basically the rules for this park and your animals are inexistent. I feel sorry for the staff because the owners limit there from taking actions against the people that are making this a not so pleasant place to stay as you can see this individual recording my trailer and my vehicle. The park needs to enforce its rules. It needs to take control and let the office in the staff do what they need to do and not keep giving free strikes. There are older people and disabled people living in this park that need to be able to walk their dogs without people‘s dogs being off leashes are coming up at them are going after their dogs when they’re walking them. This is happened to me and I have witnessed it happened to other individuals that are elderly. This individual is one of the people that does not follow the rules and now he’s video recording my trailer in my property. Beware I have posted the pictures for your safety.”

“What a great place! I parked my Newmar RV for storage and am always a little hasitant when leaving this gem anywhere. But, after talking to the owner I was assured that I could call any time to ask a questions or if I had concerns. Great customer service and hands down a secure place to store my RV camper in Camp Verde! Plus, the added flexibility to come and go as I need. I highly recommend it if you need a storage place for an RV, watercraft ...pretty much anything with wheels!”
