Vantage West Credit Union, founded in 1955 to serve Tucson’s airmen and their families, has grown significantly over the decades. Starting with fewer than 600 members and less than $60,000 in assets, it expanded rapidly, reaching nearly 14,000 members by the late 1960s. In 2006, the credit union changed its name from DMAFB Federal Credit Union after converting to a state charter. It continued to grow through mergers with First Edition Community CU and Tombstone Federal CU in 2010 and 2014. Despite its growth, Vantage West has maintained its core mission of investing in the community. Members praise the friendly and professional staff, highlighting helpful employees who provide quick service, such as expediting loans and offering notary services. The overall experience is described as welcoming and efficient, making Vantage West a trusted choice over banks for many members.
