Bonsall Park is a local park that has seen better days, but still offers a peaceful and scenic setting for visitors. While the park has experienced some challenges, such as an increase in homeless individuals and occasional issues with vandalism, it remains a beloved community space. The park features a duck pond, picnic tables, and a playground, though some amenities have been removed due to concerns about the homeless population. Despite these challenges, the park continues to be a popular destination for local residents, who appreciate its natural beauty and the opportunity to relax and unwind. The park's nickname, "Chicken Park," reflects the presence of homeless individuals, but many visitors report that they are able to coexist peacefully with the park's various users. Some have even noted the efforts of local outreach groups to provide resources and support to the homeless community. While the park may not be as well-maintained as some would like, it remains a valuable community asset, providing a space for people to gather, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with one another. With continued care and attention, Bonsall Park has the potential to thrive and serve the needs of all its visitors, both housed and unhoused alike.
Honestly it's an okay park but you can tell that it doesn't get the love and attention that it really needs. It's a shame because it is a really nice park that has a lot of potential if the city cared for it. Still fun for the young one though.
