A New Leaf’s East Valley Men’s Center is a men’s shelter with 100 beds, serving over 525 men a year. It is a working man’s facility focused on providing a hand up, not a hand out, to help single men get back on their feet. The center requires and assists men to secure employment and save money for their transition to safe, stable housing. Residents receive three square meals daily and have their own cubicle with a bed, shelves, and a hanging area. The facility supplies essentials like night clothes, soap, detergent, deodorant, and grooming care, along with laundry services, so men do not need to spend money during their stay. Amenities include a workout area, a basketball court, and shaded areas. The staff is amazing and provides significant support, including a case manager for each resident to build a personalized housing stability plan. Help is offered with rapid housing, work resources, and resume building in the computer lab. The center has rules to maintain order, cleanliness, and safety. Residents are asked to help with chores. It is overall a good place and considered the best men's facility in Arizona, providing crucial shelter and support to the largest homeless population in the state.
