Absolutely the WORST car rental experience ever! I rented through Costco and this was the pick-up location. Avis knowingly rented me a filthy vehicle with a leaky tire and a half tank of gas! A week later when I brought the car back them let them know, the apathetic person at the counter did not say a word, not even an "I'm sorry"!!!
I rent a lot of vehicles all over the country and have used Avis many times in the past. They have never been great but never THIS bad! Never again

I show up with my three sons who are all over 6” indigenous young men. The representative told me I needed a credit card and high credit score of 650+. To rent a vehicle. I told her the customer service told me that I didn’t need a CC because it was for rideshare and a bank card would suffice. The Avis rep behind the counter said that location was not privately owned but it’s like it was. And because of that they can go by their own rules and “someone already stole a vehicle, it was out of “our” pockets that it paid for so yeah, and there was too much theft with bank card holders. “ So the owner said they would not accept BC anymore.
So ok, I left while calling customer service and explained what the woman had told us.
Customer service said “shame on her, that’s not true. I’m sorry. We will get you to another location. Shame on her. “. The customer service rep said it was a
Corporate office and they do take bank cards along with the credit score run.

The customer service rep set me another appointment elsewhere.
I went back inside and explained to the woman at the counter what the phone call was about and she got loud and offended. I said I would report it the to BBB cause somehow us walking in for our appointment led to a whole story of thieves and swindlers (was she saying that’s what she thought we were??) and then said I threatened her. Whoa!
1-100!! I don’t appreciate being judged or losing out on something because I was profiled.
I’m disappointed that this still happens. I’m disappointed my sons had to witness this kind of profiling . I’m glad there was cameras and hopefully sound. She did calm down and changed her tone after I asked if there were cameras with sound. She said yes.

I rented car for a week and then extended it another week and was given a price. I returned it 22 hrs early for my convenience but also thought I was being nice. They charged me over a $100 more for returning earlier because it wasn't a whole week.
