I want to give a huge shoutout to Ariel at the Dollar General on Van Buren and 12th Street. She went above and beyond with her customer service today while helping a disabled customer. Her kindness, patience, and professionalism truly stood out. It’s rare to see someone so genuinely caring while still being completely professional. Ariel made a difficult situation so much easier — she’s an absolute gem and a wonderful example of what great customer service looks like!

I live across the street been here for a year. Great solid place. Nothing‘s never out of stock. Customer service is great. They don’t stalk you around the store. Just at overall comfortable place to shop.

When I shop at fry’s, sprouts, Whole Foods, Aj’s. I never get yelled at for using my reusable bags EVER. “Forget it, I’m so turned off by your service today” is what I said to one of the workers here. She responds “and that’s okay, have a good night sir” no purchase. I really wanted to say what I was thinking, but I did get in contact with higher-ups. She is your representative of this brand. I’m sure they have their daily and quarterly sales goal. She’s a liability. She can’t treat every single customer that enters this business as a potential thief.
In this economy you want a consistent flow of returning customers, not drive them away because some “lady” stole from your store last week or the week after (that has nothing to do with me). As a store owner in North Scottsdale, if my renters or employees treated my customers the way she spoke to me. They would no longer work w/ or for me. She’s not a good representation for this company and she’s not good for business.
The neighborhood is a mix, it’s developing and growing. Their combative attitudes will be this locations down fall. It’s a nice Dollar Store.

They have the worse customer service don’t talk extremely rude and no patience and the way the give you the receipts. No classes just ghetto might be in the hood but ain’t the hood act more professional or find a new job. And speak don’t like your job then quit.

I got here tonight at 8:57pm and a heavy set woman said they were closed. I replied you guys aren't supposed to close till 9pm and informed her I only needed to grab one item. She reiterated they were closed I then said ma'am it's not even 9 yet and they should stay open till 9 to honor their hours are marked for this store. It's 8:58 and she says they are closed. So I knew there was no persuading her to follow the stores policy to stay open till 9 like the store is listed to stay open till. This woman needs to be written up for not honoring store hours policy and for being rude. I told her I only wanted to buy one item and they were still supposed to be open. It's not like it was after 9. If that was the case I'd be in the wrong but since I'm not I'm letting people know they don't honor their store hours at least this woman didn't.

Arrived well before 9pm and they were closed but the sign says they close at 9pm. Not sure why it’s closed but maybe the time is just wrong.
