Hours: Mom's Pantry is a food bank staffed by kind, caring, and compassionate volunteers who smile and serve. The process is quick, easy, and pleasurable. Visitors stand in a line to get in the door, where staff are peppy with waters ready. There is another short line inside before meeting a staff member at a table. They collect proof of residency, such as an ID or electronic documents, and input information into the system. First-time visitors fill out a basic form for their household. People then pick a few specialty items from lists taped to the table, including selections for an infant or a pet. Before long, a volunteer rolls a cart from the back with those specialty items and other randomly chosen groceries. The food is great and includes necessary staples like canned goods, meat, bread, rice, beans, milk, pasta, donuts, and always fresh fruit and vegetables. It is the same quality food sold at local stores, helping control food waste and hunger. The amount is usually enough to last one to two weeks depending on family size. Volunteers will help bring the food to your vehicle or unload the cart if you are walking. Everyone is encouraged to come weekly. It is open on Saturdays and Sundays, with limited hours. It is best to check hours first, show up early, and not go at the last minute, especially towards the middle to the end of the month when expect a long line. There is shade and wooden benches by the line. The place is closed on holidays. It is an amazing place to donate to or pick up groceries from and is highly recommended.
