“I emailed them about a baby bunny that had been attacked by a cat and suffered a broken leg. They responded quickly and told me to bring the bunny in right away during intake times without any hesitation.

The staff was incredibly caring, compassionate, and professional. I’m so grateful I found this place when the bunny needed help most. It’s clear that they genuinely care about the animals they treat and the people who bring them in.

Thank you for everything you do. I will definitely be making a donation in the future to support your amazing work.”

“As a rescuer, I have visited and worked with many rescues across several western states, and this is by far the most clearly organized and prepared. When I brought the first mom and litter there back in the Fall, the intake staff came out and greeted the mom and pups, wore protective suits, gloves, and booties, and the intake process was seamless and professional as well as caring and supportive. Since then, because of how impressed I was, I have reached out to them several times for intakes of abandoned/dumped moms and puppies, and they have always treated them all with lovingkindness. Watching them work with puppies and seeing their protocols, you know moms and puppies are in fantastic hands.”

“I didn’t adopt from this place. But! I want to share my experience. Great people working here. Place is so clean and beautiful! Kittens so relaxed and look happy here. Smells sooo good.

Just a little note: please leave couples alone while they choose and discuss their feelings about babies they want to adopt. It’s kinda hard to make this important decisions when you guys super close next to us.”

“We used the room they had at the Thunderbird Medical Center. There wasn't a place to review that facility specifically, but it was such a huge refugee and benefit for my husband and I as we went through the adoption process. The volunteers and workers were absolutely wonderful and the facilities were beautiful and very compassionately thought out. From laundry to snacks they thought of so many things to help easy the hospital stay. Thanks for all the help”

“NACA is an excellent program for individuals seeking guidance and support on the path to homeownership. The counselors are knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping participants succeed. If you are serious about buying a home and willing to stay committed to the process, NACA provides valuable resources and direction. The staff is honest and helpful, and they work with you as long as you remain focused, organized, and financially prepared. I would recommend this program to anyone who is ready to put in the time, submit the required documentation, build savings, and stay dedicated to their home buying goals.”

“H.E.L.P. is an amazing organization with tremendous amazing leadership and mentorship. Dawn-Marie is an amazing, inspiring leader within our Arizona Community and we are so grateful for her empowering courage to make a difference everyday. It's amazing the power of influence, especially an impactful, positive momentum, truly unstoppable what her and everyone that puts forth the amazing community service. Grateful to know her and others working with her. If myself and our DumpsterIP business can be of service helping and supporting, we too, are here as Dawn-Marie continues to lead and guide my heart and way to becoming a leader in the community as well. A great example of mentorship as she has taught me and others the ways to see things beyond what we see, but what we can do with the eyes closed to see further than one can imagine. Thank you do for this community the families, and the children looking for their purpose and you allow them a chance to find it as we know its' always there, change is growth, and you make change. My HERO! Thank you!

Andrea Kunz is such a “H.E.L.P.” with true compassion and professionalism. This nonprofit demonstrates leadership in the community, offering guidance and support where it’s most needed. Their dedication to serving others with integrity is inspiring. We love you all!”

“I am a member of AA with over a decade of sobriety. I am a public speaker at various hospitals and treatment centers in the Phoenix area. I also speak at meetings. The literature at crossroads is excellent and the program is probably the best in the city. Unfortunately many of the clients are there for food and a roof over their head and it gets discouraging at times for people that are truly trying to get sober so please be aware of this if you are seeking help here. You will not find better treatment anywhere. Your recovery is yours to to seek out and grab all the information and opportunities that are so freely given to you by the state and this facility. This program is world class.”

“Mom's pantry was pretty great. You stand in a short line to get in the door, with the staff smiling and peppy with waters at the ready. Once you get inside there's another short line before you meet with a staff member at a table. They grab only your ID, input your information in the system (if it's your first time you give them a form you got while standing in line containing very basic info for you and everyone in your household) and then you pick a few items from their specialty lists taped to the table, even a selection for an infant and a cat/dog if you have any. Before long a staff member rolls a cart out of the back with those specialty items and other stuff they randomly pick for you. I found canned goods of course, along with a meat, bread, rice, beans, milk, pasta, and donuts. It was not a bad catch. It was all a quick, easy, and pleasurable experience in a time of need. Would definitely recommend to anyone.”

“As a subcontractor here in Arizona, we can honestly say the American Subcontractors Association of Arizona has been a game-changer for our business. Their advocacy work truly makes a difference—they give subcontractors a strong, unified voice on the issues that impact us most.

The educational classes are top-notch and incredibly practical. We’ve walked away from multiple sessions with tools and knowledge we could apply immediately to improve our operations and protect our business.

On top of that, the networking events are some of the best in the industry. They’ve helped us build meaningful relationships with other professionals, leading to new opportunities and partnerships we wouldn’t have found otherwise.

If you’re a subcontractor looking to grow your business, stay informed, and be part of a supportive community, I highly recommend getting involved. This organization genuinely has your back.”

The Heard is being remodeled and has improved so much this year! (2024)

Loved our host Ranger Chuck. He crushed it as a host! We were thankful for his knowledge of the area and wildlife. We will return!”

“Hit or miss semi-organized inventory for builders and first time home buyers. Great prices for that one unique piece (i.e., lighting). Great area rugs. Friendly staff. Store could have been better organized. The front of the building is not inviting. Parking area needs to be cleaned sadly of human waste.”

“Didn’t expect people to bring shopping carts to a book sale but those kinds of people shine brightly here. Big warehouse, so many books and book lovers picking them like they’re apples and strawberries. Really puts you in the “go-go-go” mood but i only got seven books and enjoyed the atmosphere/people watching. Also, they don’t accept donations. So don’t bring the books you didn’t like with ya…And another thing, parking is $12.”

“I was greeted by a really kind woman at the front desk, she gave me a tour of the building and shared with me what services they provided for the woman. I was there to donate clothes. Donated hours on the website are not correct, end time is at 3pm not 4 pm. First time I showed put at 4pm and it was closed and the poster above the door said 3pm.”

“Went to tacos chiscos with a friend for the first time today. Been wanting to go for months. Well I'll tell you it was definitely worth the wait. One of the best Mexican food places I've been to and I've been to many in the valley since 1989. It was so authentic & fresh and so DELICIOUS!! The ELOTE alone was the bomb and the tacos were packed full of tender, delicious juicy meat and absolutely wonderful; the coconut shrimp was really, really good-would definitely order again and just the entire experience was nice. It's a very nice restaurant- cozy and clean. I would highly recommend going there if you're looking for an authentic Mexican meal for a good price!”
