I'm furious. I'm typing this review with tears in my eyes. The Groomers at this PetSmart absolutely destroyed my dog. I told them over and over that I just wanted a TRIM. To my shock when I came to pick her up--they had SHAVED her! NOOOO!!!! She has a double coat! You are not suppose to shave her!!! I'm SO pissed!!!! My fiance is furious! NEVER AGAIN!!!!! Edit: My full refund is pending. I will be keeping an eye on it. I will NEVER be back. Head of grooming said their understanding was that I wanted her hair to be all one length. I had said that I wanted her "TRIMMED" to look neat and wanted help with her shedding. I never ever would have said to shave her. If they had asked me, "Oh, well, we're going to shave her" my response would've been: "You better not or I'm shaving your god damn arms off." These people are too consumed with trying to upsell you that they never listen to the words coming out of your mouth. Buyer Beware!!!!!

We used to take our dog her first boarding at their pet hotel. I want to start off by saying that the employees are nice, and they would send me photos of our dog while we were gone. It was comforting.
In July 2024, we left our dog there for a long weekend. We always dropped her off there even for overnight trips and we’ve never had a problem. We always pay for nail grinding, and for her to be bathed and brushed before we picked her up. A week later my child found a little black dot on our dog’s head. And then another. And another. Upon inspection our dog was *infested* with dog lice. Really infested.
We called the vet right away. Dog lice is species-specific, so our cats weren’t in danger. They told us what we needed to do and we spent *hours* bathing her in special shampoo and brushing her (like in human hair). We had her professionally bathed and inspected and that was that.
After we took her to the vet again, she told us that the *only* way for a dog to get dog ice is from another dog. The thing is the only time our dog is with another dog is at PetSmart. She hates dog parks and we only walk her at night so we don’t see other dogs. There was no other contact with any dogs. Our vet also said that for an infestation that bad, it had to have been going on for a while; they’re apparently very hard to see until it gets bad unless you look for them. Our dog has short hair so we don’t brush her much, and we typically leave baths up to PetSmart, since that’s the only place we take her to get groomed.
We called PetSmart to tell them what happened and what the vet told us. They denied it, of course, and said they always inspect dogs when they’re brought in. But if, according to our vet, she must had had it for a while, this means that PetSmart did not check her very thoroughly, if at all, AND she wasn’t actually bathed or groomed, since it would have clearly come up had they.
So while I don’t have any 100% proof, I think there’s enough evidence to conclude that not only did she likely get lice infestation from PetSmart, they collect from grooming during pet hotel stays and either do a very superficial job, or don’t do the job at all. We will never take our dog here for any reason, and I’ll never shop there again. Our new boarding place is Camp Bow Wow, which charges just a little more a day for all day open play with camera surveillance so you can check in all the time. And no lice!

Had what i needed. A steel grooming comb.. and you had in stock.. went to to other pet store closest to my house and was out of stock and more expensive. And petSmart was cleaner.. thank you..

Customer service and the inside of the store all seem to run smoothly and nice, welcoming. But trying to cancel a pickup order i no longer need is like pulling teeth, trying to get a hold of somebody.. customer care or the store. Not worth it

A few months back a friend and I adopted a puppy named Tony. The staff was absolutely wonderful and we couldn’t have received a more wonderful dog. We bought all of his supplies from here and they’re all lovely. Tony’s leashes survives quite long for how intense his teething was. cannot emphasize enough how lovely the staff in the adoption center and the front counter are. Tony has grown and is quite healthy and happy. staff were incredibly informative during his adoption process and showed great care for the animals. store was clean and well stocked. kudos to the stocking and clean up staff
