The Savers family of stores is a for-profit, global thrift retailer offering great quality, gently used clothing, accessories, and household goods. Their Rethink Reuse business model of purchasing, reselling, and recycling gives communities a smart way to shop and keeps more than 700 million pounds of used goods from landfills each year. Savers also helps over 100 nonprofit organizations by purchasing donated goods from them, providing a source of revenue to support their vital community programs and services. With over 300 locations and 22,000 employees, the brand comprises Savers (in the U.S. and Australia), Value Village (in the U.S. and Canada), Unique (in the U.S.), and Village des Valeurs (in Quebec). While the store is generally clean, well-organized, and maintains a wide variety of items, some customers find the prices a bit high for a thrift store. Some items, like plastic storage bins, can be purchased brand-new for cheaper elsewhere. However, Savers is praised for its selection, especially in the maternity section, and its commitment to sustainability and supporting local nonprofits.
