I’ve been a member of ASCU for over 30 years and was employed there until nearly a decade ago. After reading some of the negative reviews, I felt compelled to share my perspective.
Many of the complaints I’ve seen on Google reviews seem to come from misunderstandings about basic personal finance, with blame unfairly placed on employees. The truth is, your money is your responsibility. The employees at ASCU go above and beyond to assist members, but they can’t fix issues if you don’t keep your account information updated or fail to communicate with them.
If a manager tells you that you need a routing number (not your account number), or that your account was frozen due to lack of contact, that’s not incompetence — it’s standard procedure to protect your account.
During my time both as a member and employee, I saw firsthand how much ASCU staff genuinely care about helping people achieve their financial goals. I learned so much from my co-workers and the members I interacted with. Their support has had a lasting impact on my own financial well-being.

“As a veteran. I wanted to go in and establish my account and reconnect with Navy Federal Credit Union. I also was interested. In refying my 2023 Honda HRV. I made an appointment. My wife and I. Met with WILL!! and he was fantastic professional and great working personality. I had a check in my hand for the refi in an hour!! Outstanding. Thank you, Will.”
“So far, so good. Just opened an account with them. I have accounts at other banks. If you read the reviews for the other banks in town, you'll see 1-3 stars which is accurate. NBAZ has a 4.2+ star rating, that should tell you something right there. I'll update this review as I acquire more experience with them.”
“The atmosphere feels light, everyone looked me in the eyes when they talked or asked questions and also, im unfamiliar with the area, but that didnt stop them from answering my questions on whats around. Most human experience I've had in a long while. Definitely recommend this site if you need to get situatiated or just need that human element of connection.”

“Went into the Wells Fargo next to the mall in Sierra Vista. This is the second time I've come in with a bunch of cash and was helped by Alex. He is extremely professional and helpful. I always feel bad bringing in a bunch of cash to make someone count. But Alex has both times I've come in been very professional and friendly about it and helpful.”

“I have done business with Chase here in Sierra Vista, since moving here 10 years ago. The lobby is always clean and welcoming. The tellers are friendly and very helpful. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at ease and overall my experience has been great.I feel my money is safe and I have 24hr access, which is a big deal. Thank you CHASE family!!”
