We had such a great experience at the Arizona Mills location. All the staff were great, this is our second dog we adopted from this location. Peggy was the associate helping us, she was so helpful, positive, and made the entire process a fun and exciting experience. Thank you Peggy for your help.

I walked in to look at the pets while shopping at the mall and the dogs looked miserable. Two dogs were in the same box and one was barking at the other incessantly. The other cute white fluffy dog could barely lift its head, or barely move. It looked tired and sick. This isnt acceptable and I hope the owners of this place do care for these animals. I know this isn't an ideal place for animals but still...I do hope they are being cared for. It was very heartbreaking.

I'll start with the positive. The customer service was phenomenal. Gina in particular. The employees working the floor truly saved this review. They were kind, patient, answered every question with no judgement and I really had a great educational experience with them. You can tell they love their animals. They also give great recommendations and resources for new pet parents and I found a great vet through them. - the biggest positive- My Bear is my dog that I never knew I needed and he completes my heart. The negatives. My Bear is positive for both parasites which is almost expected when you buy from a place like this. The puppy we met in store and the puppy we have at home are almost 2 completely different animals. The one in store was lethargic. The one at home after treatment and love is a energetic and playful puppy. This to an extent is understandable, he had been though a lot- of course he's going to be tired. My biggest gripe is with the company itself. I get that you have to pay to get the animal, vet exams, transport, rent, and paying employees... but over $5000 for a dog? Going through a breeder would be over $4000 less. Now this isn't saying much since we still came home with my furry half but you can tell that the company puts profit first. They push their food very hard- to the point that the warranty is only for 2 years instead of 5 if you don't use their food. And my dog was there for not even a full day- he doesn't need to be transitioned from that food, he wasn't even on it for that long. That food isn't even recommended for my dog- he will need a specific kind that is for breeds like him. And don't let the "well our warranty" get you. The test and treatment for the parasites that Bear got from this place was not even $100. ~ reimbursement for that is going to take over 2 months by the way. So only go here if you are willing and able to take out a second car loan for a dog.

I was hesitant to get a dog at a store like this, but my husband and I were looking for a puppy and couldn’t help but walk in and look at the different puppies that they had available. Peggy helped us find the right puppy for us, the whole process was seamless and we were given a lot of helpful information throughout the process. We’ve had our little fur baby for almost 4 months and couldn’t be happier. She is very healthy and we are extremely happy with our decision?

Staff was incredible - specifically Freddy who let us spend some time with a boxer puppy after we just lost ours. He accommodated us immediately and we traded stories about his own pups. You can tell he loves his job and we'll be back for another dog soon

This is a double merle aussie. Two merle dogs should never be bred together. No ethical breeder would breed two merles, which indicates these dogs are being sourced unethically. Double merles are highly likely to suffer from many health problems with short lifespans. Go find a reputable breeder if you’re looking for a puppy.

As a person of American Indian descent, I've been told my entire life to never purchase pets. I always followed this golden rule up until I found myself the parent of a one year old chihuahua mix rescue pup named Baby who suffers from severe year round allergies. I knew I wanted to add another pup to our household but I had specific criteria in mind to fit our needs. When I went to Animal Kingdom at AZ Mills I was accompanied by my friend and we were assisted by a friendly staff member named Peggy. She informed us of a specially priced pup that happened to be a red miniature Poodle. She let us meet him and bond with him for about 30 minutes and I fell in love. Before I knew it I was paying in full and Peggy was helping me fill out paper work (Note: There was no pressure to purchase). I purchased the health plan warranty coverage and she did a great job of explaining the terms and coverages. I was given the puppy's full medical record and was also given his parent photos, family tree, and APRI certificate. She then helped me choose a new harness, leash, and toys and we were on our way. It's currently Day 26 with Winston "Paco" in our household and he makes our home feel so complete. My pup Baby now has a younger sibling to play with, protect, and mentor. When we brought Paco home he already knew how to use the potty pads and he didn't cry. He is also well socialized and gets along well with other dogs. He has learned a few commands in both English and Spanish. He is also very sporty and loves to jump like a kangaroo and run like a cheetah. :) The only con that I have to mention about the experience is that he did get diagnosed with giardia at his wellness exam. He is currently wrapping up his treatment. Baby thankfully did not contract this parasite. Corporate has been very responsive and they requested my invoices and receipts to process a claim for me which is going to take 30-40 days. It's never a fun experience when a puppy has a health concern but in order to keep him healthy I've realized it's gonna involve some vet bills here and there. I'm happy that the company has taken responsibility and will reimburse costs. If I would've gotten a pup elsewhere who knows if I would've gotten that option. In closing, I would like to say that I was very, very touched by how much the Animal Kingdom staff cared about my puppy. When I was purchasing my puppy from Peggy two other employees came to speak with me and congratulate me. One told me that he himself adopted his sister and showed me videos of her. The other one hugged Paco then almost cried because he was so happy that he found a home. It almost made me tear up too because he said he is going to miss seeing him. My puppy was at this location for over 2 months of his life (he's 4 months old) and I have to give credit to the store staff for helping mold him into the incredible pup that he is. I would definitely recommend family and friends to get a pet here. The cost may be pricey for some but it will all come back to you ten fold in love.

Jesse, thank you a ton for helping us add another member to our family. The service was very friendly, professional, couldn't have asked for a better experience while getting our new pup Ripken.

definitely not recommended. if you're seriously looking to purchase a a pet, adopt from a shelter. this is not a piece about how bad pet stores are, just this specific one. coming in here i was expecting to see some happy lovely animals, but all there is are a ton of dogs who look sedated in tiny glass boxes, they look uncomfortable! the staff were all fine, they were maintaining the displays and around to answer questions. they were having a show in the center of the store with a small puppy and it looked happy, but due to the circumstances it must've been because it's not stuck in a tiny box. it was really uncomfortable seeing each dog in the displays "sleeping" when some had wide open eyes and were shaking violently. the size of the dogs and the tiny boxes they were in, i was shocked! if they're really sedating these dogs, it would be inhumane to constantly force these dogs into sleep, and it must be quite stressful on their bodies. however i do not work here so i am simply alleging based off what i saw. maybe this is common in the industry, but when i picked my husky up from a shelter, she was active and awake, not "sleeping". unfortunately if you're looking for a pure bred animal, yes, they have them here. i'm sure that their treatment might not matter to you, but these dogs do not look happy. this store is unnerving, so yes, i do judge you if you go here.

The fact that I got 3 puppies from Animal Kingdom says a lot in itself and I couldn't be happier with the dogs, the people and the support. We got Nugget, our Cockapoo, last year; Laika, our Maltipoo and Penny our Havanese this year. They are all super healthy, playful and well adapted. Peggy helped us with Laika and Penny at the store. We were hesitant to bring home number 3 and I asked Peggy to keep us informed of her status because we wanted to make sure she found a great home, even if it wasn't with us. I visited Penny at the store 3 times over the course of almost a month and I always found her well cared for and happy. Right when my family decided we were not going to take Penny home, Peggy contacted me to give me an update on Penny's status and that she was still waiting for a good home. I passed it by the family once again and we decided to make the commitment to get her. Couldn't be happier! Peggy was so helpful that we named our new puppy "Penny" by changing 2 "G"s for 2 "N"s--Her nickname up to that point was "Boots" for her cute white paws. Nicky, from corporate contacted me all 3 times, after we took the puppies home. Not only did she congratulate us but she made herself available to help with all questions and concerns. Animal Kingdom runs a very clean operation and makes sure all animals are well cared for and exercised while ensuring they aren't exposed to unnecessary risk. The breeders are all regulated and meet the highest standards. Animal Kingdom stands behind their breeders and their puppies. I recommend Animal Kingdom to anyone looking for a beautiful, healthy puppy.

My family and I have looking for our new family member for quite some time now but we have not been able to find the perfect puppy for us. We decided to go to Arizona mills on one of our days off and found our Mochi. We originally intended to just look around but Mochi caught our eyes right when we walked in and we instantly knew we wanted to bring her home. Freddy was amazing! He offered us a lot of help, went over all of our options, and made sure we were doing okay throughout the process. We had a lot of questions and Freddy was so patient to help answer all of them. This place truly cares about helping you find the right companion, we thank Freddy and Animal Kingdom for their compassion and assistance. Mochi is enjoying her new home, can’t get enough of her bursts of zoomies.

I love this place. I recently purchased an Auggie (Pembroke Welsh Corgi/Australian Shepherd) her name is Missy and I got excellent service from one of their employees. His name is Freddy, and he goes above and beyond his position title to make everyone including the dogs happy. He's very kind, educated, helpful, and will give you honest facts about the pets you choose. Be prepared though, the prices are highly expensive. However, it is very rewarding in the end and there are lots of financial options available.

Check my new kid out guys, his name is Phoenix. I just bought him today, he’s a 2 month old Cavapoo (poodle/ cavalier King Charles spaniel) and he is the absolute best. He was a little pricey but i can tell already he’s worth it. The first day I worked with Freddy as he was the one who introduced me to Phoenix. He was very informal about Phoenix but about dogs in general a was a pleasure to work with. The day of pickup I worked Shawn, he was also very informative and helped me get everything i needed for Phoenix so S/O to those guys but tbh they’re entire staff is pretty cool and knowledgeable.. so if you ever looking for a dog in the Phoenix and surrounding area, hit up animal kingdom in Arizona Mills mall. Great experience, pups are well taken cared of, clean & healthy, great staff, overall great store. I’m extremely happy with my Phoenix.
