The malfunction light came on in my Nissan Frontier a couple of Fridays ago. I brought it in and Carlos had tested. It turned out that I needed a new battery. I was very happy because it was covered under the Nissan warranty.

My opinion and advise is if you are shopping for a used car and want to save money and loss of sleep, simply do not buy a used car from Tempe Autonation Nissan. They sold me a car with over $2500 worth of known but undisclosed defects. The salesman knew the radio did not work, but only authorized an after-market radio that he claimed would function the same as the original, but the replacement did not work with the Nissan steering wheel controls. I paid about $200 to get genuine Nissan radio. No warranty was done until after I brought in a copy of my warranty, After that I waited a week for authorization. Not all of the repairs. I had taken the car to a trusted mechanic and was told the front struts need to be repaired. Front & Rear Suspension were listed as covered in general, and "struts rods nd bushings" were listed parts on the warranty, but I was told the Sentra does not have the strut rods, and the defective parts in the Sentra front suspension were NOT listed. The dealer knew, but did not disclosed all these defects when the car was sold. Note that Nissan Customer Service is not responsible as it is not a Nissan warranty. I paid $10,450 for a car, and a month later, and 328 miles later, I was looking about $1190 + tax for repairs. That is not counting the $300 I paid to replace their radio that did not work as specified. Also, I can safely assume that the $1,438.28 worth of defects that they did cover would not have been taken care of either had I not taken in to check the front suspension noise at my own expense. If you are looking buy a used car, you need to have your own trusted mechanic, look over any car AND the wording in the warranty.

Hard to get in contact with anybody in service, including the service manager. Email voicemail, still impossible to get ahold of somebody.
