I went to Road Runner Sports for the first time today with my wife for some new shoes. We both needed a new pair of running shoes and some socks, but we already knew the shoes were in stock via online. As we entered the store we were greeted by a gentleman named Connor, and because it was our first time we needed to do the interactive "fit finder".. I told him we were in a hurry and we already knew what we needed and he proceeds to tell us we can't shop in the store if we don't check our feet for special soles. I'm not asking anyone to break policy, but what good is the purpose of a "fit finder" for a pair of socks?? Or a pair of shoes I have owned in the past.. Especially when I can sit on my couch and order online. Doesn't make sense. Crossing this place off on my list, won't be back.

If you're a true runner, and even if you're not, avoid this place like the plague. I went on Tuesday (and knew I should not have) and there were three employees taking care of a few people. A "sales person" finally approached me while I was holding the third shoe I was looking for and he asked "so are you looking for shoes?" No kidding Sherlock, it's a shoe store. He took my name and waited ten more minutes basically serving myself. Another sales guy came over and asked what brand I wanted to see. Never buy shoes based on brand - buy the shoe that's right for you. He brought a couple of pairs out for me to try on and walked away, leaving me to " fend for myself. He had zero idea about their products and offered zero advice on what might work for me. All idiots just doing a "job". My roommate went there today and had the same experience. They didn't even have the shoe she wanted after researching their inventory online saying that there were plenty on hand. Again, zero help with zero knowledge. Go to Runner's Den, Sole Sports, Cadence Running - even if they're a little out of the way for you. They are all knowledgeable and will get you set up with what works for you. If I could give zero stars I would.

To follow-up on a final update - never received any response from the store or corporate. Will never deal with this company again. Will also ensure everyone I talk to in the running clubs knows about my experience and lack of concern from the company.

Can't really rate because I stood around watching employees ignore customers for around 5 mins. Then when I asked an employee for help he yelled to someone and that was that. Waited a few more mins and bounced. If I want to wildly overpay for sneakers, I'll expect some customer service.

Good place great shoes. It's such a large store but they don't really have that much selection of stuff beyond shoes. Very few options for running fuel etc.

Very impressive. Larry helped us with finding the right shoes for tennis. At first he didn't find them, but decided to go back and see if someone else had put them back in the wrong place, and he found them. He also got my nephew set up with custom insoles right there on the spot for $89 (pretty cool to watch them being made), which is so much nicer than paying the podiatrist $500 and waiting 2 weeks. The prices here are regular retail, as expected, but membership has a lot of benefits.

I would never step foot in another one of these locations. I went in to actually buy a pair of Brooks and was told they wouldn't sell me a pair of I didn't walk through the store with them. I said I know why I want and like a robot he kept repeating the same line of BS for being a first time customer. I don't need someone to explain every line of shoes that you carry. This is not my first time being in a shoe store. I understand customer service but when you don't listen to the person in front of you who contributes to you being able to pay your bills as an employee, there is a problem. Never, ever, ever again!!!!

My friend and myself who are both nurses came in today and Jared helped us out. He was very patient and was able to quickly greet and get us going. They measure your feet, take a video of you walking all to make sure they can give you the correct insert. Of course me and my friend had opposite needs and he was able to fit us both and we both ordered shoes! Upon leaving the store my friend said she was just going to get the inserts but Jared was so helpful and nice she got shoes also. Jojo or JJ the team lead or manager was also amazing! We will definitely be coming back as I'm pretty sold on my inserts. Sealing of selling... Jared didn't put ANY pressure on us to get ANYTHING! But we still did! The exchange policy (not return if not unworn) is pretty nice too 90days if you become a member- it's only $20 bucks but you get a discount with that also. Anyways, go check em out!

Just terrible customer service. As soon as my sales person saw my foot issues and saw that I needed a small size he could not wait to get me out the door. How can a store advertising custom fittings not be prepared to order sizes?'!?

After ordering 4 different pairs of shoes online and not finding the right fit I drove over 100 miles to go into the Tempe store. Gene helped me find the perfect shoe. He was kind and patient and knowledgeable about all the shoes and suggestions. Thank you Gene and Roadrunner for a fantastic experience!

Annamarie was amazing, I've never been to a road runners but they give you the whole experience. It was super cool, the shoes I got are a perfect fit for my feet! 10/10 recommend

Usually my go to store for shoes, but the last experience was less than stellar. Waited over 25 min on a Monday morning. There were only 3 other customers in the store. When I finally got the shoes I requested, the employee was not helpful in recommending other options. I told her that I wanted black shoes, and she responded with a smirk "its a running shoe store." Ironically, i found black shoes online and wont be returning to this location.
