Not a happy place here. All the employees are zombies and are probably 2 seconds from offing themselves or so it seems. Got everything I need, store is relatively well stocked. But my god the employees are so rude and terrible. The cashier didn't say hello. Didn't even look at us. Didn't ask us if we needed ice or anything. I made a joke to lighten up her mood and she just got pissed. I know we go through bad days but not even the bagger said hello or goodbye. It's a very depressing store and I'm definitely not coming back because clearly I am a burden for simply existing and needing groceries. Don't recommend if you like happy personable people.

This pharmacy doesn't open when they are supposed to. Additionally, when they did open I was told it would be 20 more minutes before they were ready for customers. Lastly, Walgreens had a cheaper price for my medication. I moved all my prescriptions there.

Fast turnaround for getting prescriptions filled-and by far the best price around when I was using GoodRX. I’m sure I’ll be back :-)

Do Not Shop here. Today my cashier, Rowley, was too busy talking with a coworker to pay attention to scanning my order. He double charged on items. Then I didn't get all the groceries I paid for.

My boyfriend had surgery today and the pharmacist was kind enough to make sure that he had his meds within an hour. The pharmacy staff has been very busy recently and I truly appreciated it.

It would be great if the deli stayed open past 6pm and they didn't lock the south door at 5pm. These seem like peak shopping times, no?

Monsoon season here in the Valley is brutal. Today's expected temp is 107 degrees with high humidity so I headed to this Safeway at 6:30am so that my frozen foods, eggs, and dairy products don't spoil before I get them home. The only open check-out lanes were self-checkouts. Really???? If I wanted to do self check-out I would save money and go to Winco or Costco. For the prices charged at Safeway a minimum level of customer service is expected! I hate the loathsome self check-outs and stopped using the Safeway on Broadway in Tempe because of this issue. When I asked when they were going to open some cashier lanes I was told not until 8am. When I expressed my distress I was told they would have a cashier check me out if I asked. Apparently other people overheard my question because by the time I finished my shopping there were already 4 people ahead of me in the ONLY cashier lane with full carts. I not only had a full cart, I had 4 cased of bottled water, so I knew that I was NOT going to use the self-check aisles. Other negatives include being out of items in the ad--such as Lucerne cottage cheese--and a deli area that was totally missing in action (it was after 7am by the time I made my way over there). On the plus side, there is plenty of parking and unlike many other Safeway stores in the area, I did not see any transients hanging out in front of the store.

Floral department. Always the absolute freshest flowers in town. Any special occasion I have , I always know I can depend on Safeway to come through for me.

This was the worst and rudest encounter. We had an appt for a booster and completed all forms and we were accepted for the booster online. When we got to the pharmacy on Elliot in Tempe the pharmacist refused to give us a booster because we were 2 days short of 5 months and did not have certain medical conditions, none of which were asked online except for immune disorders, which we did not have yet we were accepted for the appointment. The form did not ask us about the list of qualifying conditions, so how were we to know this? Safeway's online forms are not complete or honest and waste our time coming to the pharmacy.

I use the Safeway app every week. I recommend Safeway if you use their app. You will save money ?. A downside to the app is that the "Just 4 U" sale items are personalized to the store you register with and if you shop at another Safeway the "Just 4 U" specials will probably be different and you will want to make sure you get all the specials marked. It can be time consuming, but it is worth it for the amount I save. I get the savings for being loyal and the other people can pay more. I recommend always using the app!

Prices don't ring up as posted, customer services down and not very many workers. By the time I checked out (2 errors) it was clear that this is not my store. Maybe avoid at night, seemed very rough with clerk sharing the daily stealing from this store.

I wrote a review about this store before and they asked me to contact them with my concerns. Ha!!! I never got a message back BUT!!! I still use the store because of convenience, SO! I had the day off today and I got to go shopping early for once (7am) and I asked the lady at the deli counter when do they put out the fried chicken and she said 9:00 and I said okay and finished shopping and went home. I returned at 9:30 and NOTHING was placed on display so I asked again and she said DID I NOT TELL YOU 9am Hold on lady I asked a simple question and it's 9:30!!! 2 and a half hours later!!! I'm going to Fry's for now on and you should too.

Although I do have a member card this is not a grocery store that I frequent often. The items they sell are fine and its clean I just don't find they offer some of the more specialty items that I typically gravitate towards.

I highly recommend the safeway pharmacy and this store. It's my new go to place to shop. It's not too crowded and everything is in stock. Pharmacy doesn't lose your order like Walgreens.

I only recently began going to this location. The one I normally would go to doesn't have self checkout. I have a tendency to do any grocery shopping late evening or late at night when there are maybe 2 checkouts open and long lines of people like me shopping late. As soon as I saw the self checkout and how clean and organized this store is I knew I had found my new store. Grocery shopping for me is like getting teeth pulled, I don't want to do it but I have no choice. There's nothing like standing in line with minimal items and standing in line longer than it took to shop, therefore self checkout is my favored option. I also like Safeway delivery sometimes, they've always done a great job for me.
