I had reserved 2 days in advance a 10’ truck from 6:30am-10:30am. I had called on the phone and spoke to a representative. I asked who would be open that early so i could rent a truck and was given the tempe town lake location on 500 n scottsdale road.
It’s hot in July in az so i needed to do an early move before it hit 100. I showed up and tried to check in at 6:20am on the app. It wouldn't let me. It only sent me to a customer service number. I saw a woman getting a key out of a lockbox , thought she was a customer, so i went up and asked her, “ hey! I cant figure out how to get checked in to my uhaul, how did you do it?”
“Were closed”-her
“Oh well i reserved it for 6:30am, can you just help me check in? I have to get going”-me
“You'll have to call the number”-her
I walk back to my car, after she was very rude to me in how she talked and called the number. 15 minutes of being on hold only for it to go to a voicemail…. So 6:45, i decide i cant do anything but wait till 7, when they open. 6:58, doors unlocked so i walk in
“Were closed”-her
“Its 2 min till 7 and the doors open”
“Ya no were closed”
So i stand out the door for 2 min….
7am, walk in ,” hey i have a reservation for 6:30, customer service has no one in the office, my app isn't letting me check in.”-me
“Whats your name”, gives her name, “ ya looks like we don't have a truck for you.”
Meanwhile this whole time, a 10’ truck is parked right out the front door
“What do you mean you don't have it. Its outside. I reserved it 2 days ago and have been waiting 30 min already” -me
“Just because you reserved it doesn't mean well guarantee that well have it”-her
“Well i have to move so what are you going to do for me”-me
“Your going to have to be transferred to another location” -her
….. as this was a losing battle and she was being very snarky and rude i asked the location and drove over to the McClintock location.
The guy there had a truck but she never sent over my reservation information. At this point I've wasted an hour just trying to pick up the truck, its 94 degrees out, and its cutting into my move out time. I get the truck at 8am. Something that should have been a quick 6:30am mobile pick up for an estimated $20 charge, turned into waiting 2 hours, being transferred to another location, and a $60 charge. Waste of tiiimmeee! That lady needs to be fired. Terrible terrible service and attitude. This was on 6/24/24. And then i had to move boxes for the next few hours dripping sweat till 12pm in 100 degree heat. It ruined my day. If you get a rental, don't even bother with the location on scottsdale road.

My wife and I were in need of a storage really fast because our apartment had already rented our apartment out before we could get into our new condo in McCormick Ranch. Jasmine and Topher were amazing to make that happen. Made this whole transition, less stressful, big shout out to both of them. They are located off McClintock in Tempe ?

The location changed my pickup time less than 24 hours in advance. Broke reservation guarantee but would not honor the $50 guarantee. The time change was a major inconvenience to me, and the reasoning for it was that they were afraid that the app would not work for the check in (but only for cargo vans and pickup trucks and only at that locations)…. Makes no sense right? Employee on the phone would not answer any questions about the short notice change.
The location was supposed to provide a padlock as advertised in the reservation but refused to do so. I had to spend $20 at Ace Hardware to get my own.
Location was supposed to give first month of storage unit free if I also rented a truck (as it stated in the reservation, in U-Haul policy, and in my contract). Employee said that the location manager directed them to stop honoring that last week because the location does not have enough vehicles (again makes zero sense). My contract says I don’t owe any money this week but I was charged in person .
Location seems to just make up rules as they go. Totally ridiculous.

Terrible service, I was in a hurry to get an item that I previously placed in that storage but I found myself in trouble when I arrived and the gate was broken, at the pad was a post it with a number to call to get the gate open, well I made a call I waited for about 5 min to get connected with someone who was rude and careless, her name is Ruby and well I ended up losing my time without my item because there was nothing she could do for me so I have to go at business hours… so my item is stucked there

Staff was not knowledgeable at all and acted bothered. My truck broke down and I was stranded in traffic on the freeway. I was not given a replacement truck to drive for 3 hours. Horrible experience. My entire day was wasted for a 1 hour job.

If I can give this place no stars I would as This was my first time using U-Haul and I’m in consideration of never using them again I had a horrible experience here especially at this location I was supposed to pick up my rental at 7 am through Mobile pick up and some error happened and I had to wait until 9 am when the store open to see a rep. Then to top it off once they open the lady that helped me Amber M to be exact was extremely rude I told her about my situation how I had to pick up my truck at 7 am and it was already close to 9 and I still haven’t left the property she quote on quote said “I can’t help you with that right now you’ll have to wait till we open I have other things to do” then she was not only rude to me but also some other customers that were having issues as well I lost 3 hours of my rental time because of poor customer service I had to rush to to do my things in order to return truck on time once truck was turned in she looks at me and says with an attitude are you picking up or dropping off she went on to say it’s not her fault she’s new to the location it’s her first day there I am extremely disappointed at this first experience I hope U-Haul looks into who they hire as my experience her with you guys was horrible I hope I get some sort of feedback or reach out to me as this was unacceptable

I had my storage space for 18 months . No issues and nothing was ruin from heat or bugs.

THIS IS HOW THEY MOVED MY STORAGE AFTER ILLEGALLY KICKING ME OUT!! They broke over $800 worth of my equipment. I currently CAN NOT WORK BECAUSE IF THAT-MISHAP . PLUS THEY STOLE MY 2 bags of RYOBI 20v drill and CHARGERS. THEY NEED TO BE OUT OF BUSINESS. THESE KIDS TALK TO YOU WITH TOTAL DISRESPECT. ITS HORRIBLE

Bate and switch pricing, and they add additional charges to your card without consent! Was quoted $19.95 rental plus $. 29 cents per mile for 100 miles online. When I got there sat 01/08/22, they charged me $79.00 rental and $. 29 per mile for a total of $101.79. When I realized the difference and went to turn truck in, manager insisted (on a phone call on speaker from employee) I must have "misread" my price quote and I was also told I can't, or shouldn't, believe anything on the website because it always messes up, and the only was to get "accurate" pricing was to visit the store. Two days later, there is now a charge for uhaul on my card for $140.79! They charged me an additional $40! And it wasn't for over mileage, I was 9 miles under my estimate and I had exact amount of gas required in tank, and when I turned in the truck I was told they OWED me a seven dollar refund from the $101. Be careful and double check your charges if using this location! Thankfully I still had receipt showing the correct amount so I could dispute it with Bank of America. Complete fraud.
