I took in a 5 week old kitten with diarrhea, they said they only see pets that are over 6 weeks and healthy, they couldn't do anything for me. They only do shots and vaccinations.... Something that would have been nice to know when I scheduled online.The store gets 2 stars for friendly staff, good products, and clean building.

If you love dog DO NOT TAKE HIM TO THIS VETCO!How can someone that has no idea how to handle a dog be hired to register and check the dogs going for a vaccine? EXPLAIN this to me PLEASE!!! My trained 1 year old Rotty pup was behaving PERFECTLY when this incompetent person immediately got scared with my dog, thought it was a great idea to put a muzzle on him (first time for him) and say: "oh no, I can't with this dog, he is staring at my eyes, he is growling" then 2 other vaccination personnel surround him, 3 against one + choke collar + leash PLUS muzzle!!!HOW IS A DOG that has NEVER been treated like this supposed to react???? YOU DON'T NEED a VETERINARIAN DEGREE to have common sense! Obviously he did not like how he was being treated and OF COURSE since dogs done talk, they growl to show they are not ok. Super sad he was discriminated and at such a young age... You would think that people that get jobs with animals would know how to behave around them...

If you care about your pet, please go somewhere else. They obvious don't care about your pet. They made a mistake in recording my pet's vaccination and told me they can't fix it. What??!

If I could’ve given zero stars I would have. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. And this is actually strike two for Vetco, and more specifically at the Tempe location at 1835 E Guadalupe. The first issue I had with Vetco, I scheduled an appointment online, a month+ in advance, showed up for my appointment to find out they didn’t show for appointments that day and nobody bothered to let me know my appointment was cancelled. This second issue that happened today, I had an appointment scheduled at 5:54, arrived 2 minutes late, and because it was too close to their closing time at 6:00, they refused to take me for a quick rabies vaccination. The kid who checks people in said if you arrive after 5:50 they won’t take you, which is interesting since my appointment was at 5:54. They also said ALL communication about the appointment says to arrive 10 minutes early and I can definitely tell you that the 4 text messages the day of and the email reminder I received two days prior said nothing about arriving 10 minutes early. The kid went to ask another lady if they would take me, and she came over and also said no because it was too close to 6:00, and verbatim said the Veterinarian has to leave at 6:00….interesting since I stuck around til 6:10 and they still hadn’t left. These people purely just didn’t want to stay an extra 5 minutes. They clearly have no regard for their customers or in helping make sure your pets are vaccinated. I will literally tell everyone I know to never go to Vetco.

Wow I'm so impressed with this place!!! I'll be honest I always get PetSmart and Petco confused so upon moving to Az I accidentally booked at pet smart. I had a horrible experience..... so l was a little hesitant about what my next experience would be like at a different pet store but a lot of small owned businesses here wouldn't take xl dogs.But Petco is a cheaper option out off all the ones I've seen with our dogs needs! I'll tell you we had nothing but a good experience from when we walked in to when we walked out! Nala and willow looked amazing!!!! They were completely dry and smelt soooo good! Nala is a lab so she sheds 24/7 and I'm so impressed with how much hair they got off of her! She looks so much lighter! Their coats are so soft and they were not scared or anything upon pick up!! They must of loved it! Honestly we will never go anywhere else! 10/10 with this Petco! Plus you get a punch card on the app and you get amazing discounts on the grooming! Thanks so much you guys! I'm glad we found a place like this!

The fish options aren't the best at this location. They also don't have common cat food brands I use for my cats. I used to always go to Petco growing up but it's not really the same anymore. You can really see and feel the difference going into a Petco and petsmart. Petco needs to do something

Does anyone answer the phone at this store?Grooming even customer service. No one picks up the phone. I've called countless times and never get through to anyone. Very frustrating. Have to find a new store or should I say groomer.

Rude staff although Vet knew his stuff. Treated like a third class citizen, I will not be back. I understand you are busy and give 4 minutes for each appointment but why schedule like that to be so snappy and short with customers? Ever thought about adding a couple minutes to each appointment to treat people with a little more respect? I don’t care if the vaccines were $1 each, I would never return.

This place is terrible. Scheduled vaccine appointments for both my cats weeks I’m advanced and got a babysitter to be able to bring them in. Upon arrival I was rudely told that they didn’t have my appointments scheduled even though I had confirmation texts. Told me that I couldn’t have appointments and when I asked to speak with management, she rudely snapped that she was the manager and went back to ignoring me. This place needs someone professional running it. I will never return to this place.

I give up. Over the last year, when I go to this location, what I want is out of stock, and often its their own brand Wholehearted. Sometimes I would get store pickup, often from 2 different stores, with the lack of stock. Eventually, I started using an online retailer with better prices and fast delivery. Today, I thought I would stop by Petco, it's close to my house, to pick up a couple items. The doors were still open, but there were "closing". It was noon. No reason. No estimated time of being back open. Too unreliable. I'm just ordering from the other retailer online from now on.
