The Fort Lowell Museum offers visitors a chance to learn about the history of the United States Army post active from 1873 to 1891, as well as the daily lives of soldiers, indigenous scouts, and their families. The museum features outdoor signage, ruined buildings, and a park setting, making it a pleasant spot for an afternoon visit or picnic. Although small, the museum is informative and well-maintained, with knowledgeable guides providing engaging tours. Visitors can also explore nearby outbuildings, some of which are open to the public, and look forward to upcoming improvements like a mock-up of a period hospital room. Throughout the year, the museum hosts events such as Fort Lowell Days, with re-enactors in period costumes sharing artifacts and stories, creating an immersive experience. However, the museum has undergone renovations, and at times may be closed to the public, which can be disappointing for visitors eager to explore inside. Despite this, the outdoor displays and special events make Fort Lowell Museum a worthwhile visit for history enthusiasts and families alike.
Really great experience! Everything was clean and in great the condition! The person that gave us the tour was really nice and had a lot of knowledge about everything, he really knows his history! Very cheap prices and a great thing to do on a nice Saturday with the fam!

Really Enjoyed Fort Lowell Days. The museum & all the re-enactment players were very engaging. We spent much of the day there.

We went to Fort Lowell on a holiday and didn’t realize that until everything was closed. We read all of the signs about the fort but didn’t get to look in the museum itself. Next trip for sure
