Native Seeds/SEARCH Conservation Center is a nonprofit seed conservation organization based in Tucson, AZ. It is a treasure house of goodies and a wonderful source for seeds adapted to the desert climate, native plants, and regionally made products like jams, flours, and books. The organization's mission is to conserve and promote arid-adapted crop diversity in support of sustainable farming and food security. It operates seed conservation and community programs for the Southwest region. The work they do is so important. The staff are great people who care and are incredibly competent and super lovely. The mission and culture truly embody what it means to preserve indigenous identity. While there is no public retail storefront, their online shop offers an incredible experience. Customers recommend the amazing products, noting items like the creosote sunscreen can be life-changing. It is a wonderful organization where shopping online makes a difference.
