Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts in the area. It is known as a great stargazing location, with visitors bringing advanced astronomy gear to set up for public use. The trailhead is also a popular starting point for adventures on the Arizona Trail, offering access to the creek and the stunning Rattlesnake Bridge. The area is well-suited for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking, with clearly marked trail entrances and a designated equestrian parking area. Visitors should be mindful of their pets, keeping them on a leash and prepared to clean up after them. The trailhead is busier during the cooler months, but it remains a beautiful and enjoyable place to explore the local desert scenery throughout the year.
Went the morning after a heavy rain. Real tiny stream in the wash with tons of baby fish. Fun place for young kids to explore. We just walked to the stream and back

Great trail/hike options. Good parking. Came through here on the AZT and enjoyed the covered picnic area.

Recommend using GPS for directions to get there unless you are familiar with the area. South direction is a less strenuous walk. North has downward slope with loose stones and rocks for early portion so we didn't go down very far.
