Banana split a must. Hand dip ice cream!! It was old fashioned just like we wanted. My husband and I shared one. The kids each had ice cream with a topping. Old fashioned bottle coke. With tip it was $59 and we would treat ourselves again.

Turquoise Room

Category: Fine Dining. If you’re hungry for a fine dinner after standing on the corner in Winslow Arizona, you can find it in The Turquoise Room in the La Posada Hotel. The current owners of this historic property have made the restaurant and the hotel such a fine sight to see. The colorful room itself has turquoise beams supported by beige corbels, a burnt orange terra cotta tile floor, woven wall hangings, unique hammered tin chandeliers with floral panels, and lots of dark wooden tables that be configured for any group. Although there are no white tablecloths, the fine food and excellent service are top notch. Truth be told though, we dined at one of the lobby’s many tables because the lobby is dog 🐕 friendly, as is the hotel. If you’re inclined to dine at the bar, which we do in most restaurants, this one has a classy, modern Southwest vibe. As for the wine list, we were happy to see several red choices under $50 (our sweet spot for restaurant wines), and even some under $50. As for the food, the creamy sweet corn and black bean soup (which reminded me of my Soup within a Soup) was one of the best soups I’ve ever had, anywhere. And it’s made unique for each serving by the servers, who decorate it differently for each guest. For mains, Sarah loved the bacon-wrapped filet mignon (everything’s better with bacon, especially beef tenderloin) with lobster mushroom sauce (the mushrooms taste like lobster, not the other way round). I loved the Pork Osso Buco (which reminded me of my Pig Wings lesson). More importantly than the particular dishes we ordered is the fact that the entire menu here would impress any foodie, and could compete with the best any big city has to offer. Bojo's Grill & Sports Club

It's a nice and quiet place to sit and have a meal. The portions of food are large, and I would cut those in half. The prices if needed, but I would decrease the portions. Or perhaps people can split a meal. A couple, 50/50 sort of thing. I used to put them in the middle of my former and we'd share. That was another version someone else's life.
