West Wetlands Park is a big, beautiful park ideal for a variety of activities. It features numerous trails, shade trees, river access, and a hummingbird garden. The park includes a large pond with geese and ducks, along with an epic playground, barbecue party shelters, and ample parking. There are also side pull areas away from the main park for more privacy.
Visitors appreciate the clean areas and the different play spaces for small and bigger kids, including a handicap-accessible swing. The park has a fancy play area featuring a small zipline for children. Many enjoy walking their dogs along the easy trails beside the Colorado River, though some note that the views of the river are limited due to vegetation.
While the park is well-maintained, some suggest improvements, like adding soap and hand dryers in restrooms and better trail signage. Overall, West Wetlands Park is a lovely spot for families, picnics, and enjoying nature.
We went for a floatdown from ocean to ocean to wwp. Great day got burnt and floated for about an hour.

It’s a great park to hike/walk. About half the hike is under trees that provide shade. About one third of the hike is along the Colorado River.
