I booked a bath and deshedding service for my dog at Petco in Fayetteville, AR. About 10 minutes after I left, I received a call from Ashley, the groomer, who informed me that my dog must have been sprayed by a skunk recently. She said the smell was so overwhelming that both she and another groomer were unable to use the blower to dry her, so they placed her in a drying crate instead.
I explained that my dog had been sprayed back in June and that, during a previous grooming appointment, I had mentioned this to the groomer. He had noted that while he could faintly detect the scent, it would take 6 months to a year to fully dissipate. Despite that, the last time I brought my dog in, the deshedding service was completed properly, and she was no longer shedding when I picked her up—exactly what I needed.
However, after this most recent appointment, as soon as we got in the car and my dog shook, hair billowed off of her. My first instinct was to go back inside, but I remembered Ashley mentioning that the smell was strongest around her head, so I assumed she may have avoided brushing that area. Once I got home, I checked, and it was as if the deshedding hadn't been done at all.
I paid $102 (including a $10 tip) only to have the primary service I needed go incomplete. If your pet has any noticeable odor—whether faint or strong—I would suggest asking in advance if the groomer has any sensitivities. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not return to this location.

The only person working the floor at the time on MLK day, with birds tattooed on his neck, was so amazing and handled everything perfectly and patiently despite having to help everyone. They price checked my item TWICE and saved me $60. Absolutely amazing customer service!!

My grandmother was attacked by a dog this week at this store she did not try to pet the dog or anything she simply walked by. She now has 4 puncture wounds in her hip. The staff did absolutely nothing to make sure she was ok and did not offer any help. This is utterly disgusting that anyone would ignore an elderly women with puncture wounds in her hip from a dog attacked that happened at their store. Please do not go to these inconsiderate people who barely care about people!

I start by saying that the employee gentleman that assisted us was friendly. Now, I can not believe after 20 plus years that the place is STILL as dirty & nasty looking as it is!😳 No good excuse for every fish tank, reptile etc tank to have excessive amounts of poop in them or fur the tanks to have soo much algae built up in tank.. The floors had piles of trash swept up & pushed to the side, dust/ dirt/ trash built up under things & so on. *UNACCEPTABLE* poor critters I say!!! This needs to be corrected & immediately!
