Really cool art inside and interesting displays. Didn't see much of the outdoor area because it was freezing when I visited. Nice gift shop with stuff from local artists

The museum was doing some changes on some their exhibits but, what was fully up and running were very nice. The gift shop had nice things to choose from and the gentleman running it was very knowledgeable about the merchandise and the artists that created them. Our favorite part was the outdoor guided tour. The guide was extremely informed on what he was presenting. And very friendly, he even answered all my 101 questions! ?* My husband being a military veteran got in free *

The displays in the museum were pretty standard fare, but they offered a tour of authentic dwellings that had been preserved from before the 1890's. And it was excellent, our guide was superb. He hadn't simply memorized a script, but knew of what he was speaking. He also served as the sites resident blacksmith, and showed some of the items he created. He made the tour fascinating with his easy flow, and knowledge of the subjects. I highly recommend the tour and for a price of 2.50 it is hard to go wrong. The museum itself had free entry. There is also a streetcar stop not too far from the museum, so that is helpful as well.

This museum is free and gives you a history lesson on Arkansas. It not only has a brick and motar building, but their are mock log cabins and other similar structures across the street. There is also a private parking lot for the museum on that side of the street and you will find metered street parking within a reasonable walking distance. You can enter the museum from two opposing sides. The main entrance has some enticing sculptures out front and are popular with people taking pictures on.I will admit that their is not much to this museum. It is two levels of exhibits that are available to view. The first is where you will find an information booth, gift shop, meeting room and open space vacant exhibit area. The only actual exhibit on the first floor is Conspicuous Consumption: If you've got it, flaunt it! That displays antique furniture and artifacts. The second floor has the majority of the exhibits including Arkansas art, some of which you can purchase, a large native American exhibit, and the Sturgis Children's Gallery, which is pretty much a kids play area. The native American exhibit is the most detailed and where I spent the majority of my time. The knife exhibit was closed while I was there. I really wanted to see it, but oh well.Visiting the museum is 100% free, but they do offer paid tours. In addition to the inside exhibits, the tour includes a mock historic town located outdoors that has brick/wood made buildings and structures. This is a nice museum. It is pretty clean and well organized. I spent about an hour checking out the museum and walking the grounds. It is definitely a must see while in Little Rock.

I absolutely love how the Museum has renovated but remain true to details of our history. Its worth taking the family for a tour to educate and learn a new survival skill. So much to love here from the front door to the herbs garden. They also support Arkansas Artists in the gift shop. My picture was in the gifts shop in the 1990s, i was the actress a part of living history character "Tabby" a real slave left in charge of selling the Brownlee home. You should go see how Arkansas has grown over the years

Decent size museum. Now it's free, not much crowd, so you will not be disturbed.Good native american and racist exhibits. One good thing I learned from the museum, how people in south enslaved people after civil war and proud of it ??

This is a good museum to come to on the weekends with kids. I do not suggest coming during the week. The weekend is when they do all of the reenactment and the forgery. Overall I had an okay time. It was raining when I went so I got a little wet. There is also very little information and things to actually see and do during the week.

Such a charming historical museum!! Loved the authenticity. If you join the tour, you can walk into real historical buildings and furnitures. Museum is free and tour is 2.5 per person.

Lark is an awesome employee! Thanks for the fun time. Cool place for sure. Also the group of men at the Blacksmith were so kind and knowledgeable about the skill. They showed us lots of tools they made and whatnot. Super neat place! This museum is well loved, well taken care of, and everyone we met was extremely pleasant. Thank y’all for the enjoyable time!

Everyone is so friendly and nice. They were doing a reenactment of the gold rush Era and each individual had some amazing stories to tell with lots of history behind it. I loved this place.

Such an awesome place. You can do your own tour which is free or you can pay for a tour which is pretty cheap but make sure you're there on the hour cuz they do tours every hour on the hour I got there like 5 minutes after 3:00 and missed it so it was okay I just walked around it was nice. And certain days you would have to ask they have people dress up in the old timey clothes and have those old houses open talking about the history. They have an Indian museum a little place for children to play and a few other cool museums in there to look at old things from the 1800s it all has to do with arkansas's history though.
