Beautiful history behind this . If they can keep the Clintons out, maybe it will stay beautiful.

I enjoyed the dresses but the guy in the corner under the stairs kept playing something on his phone, like sound effects from candy crush or something. It echoed up the stairs and I could even hear it on the second floor! I felt like this was disrespectful since people are trying to read signs and enjoy the museum. Idk if he was a tour guide or security or what. Maybe if you want to enjoy this museum, you should probably bring earplugs.

This museum is cool. The landscaping was a nice background for pageants.

I'm not a big fan of museums, but that one grabbed my attention in several rooms. Especially I'd recommend to see the one about Kent Bonar, illustrator and naturalist. I was very impressed by his work, watched a video on TV about him and couldn't go until it ended. Such a talented person!

This place is free to visit at this moment in time due to the works they are doing on the ground floor, but how great is inside, if like us, you are into history and so many more things:- lots of information about the past times in this part of the world and what building used to house- lots of information upstairs on more local history, traditions, beside the difference the woman were trying to create here 100 years ago, just like the Sufragette in the UK- unexpectantly, we discovered a room dedicated to music - simply amazing.Of course we could not stop ourselves from buying some of their amazing mugs from their shop.I know, the place smells of old - but is the smell of great old!!!!!

Free entry to this giant museum. Me and my 2 year old spent a few hours here wandering the halls, rooms and various stairways. The museum has a broad variety of artifacts from Arkansas history, political and other major events as well as rooms displaying previous years decorating styles and special-purpose rooms. Our favorite rooms were the event room with guitars all over the wall, the green screen, and of course the toy room.

Like most local museums, there’s all the usual local history stuff. But the Old State House does extra well with their temporary exhibitions. I’ve been many times over the years and it seems they always have something interesting where I leave having gained actual knowledge about the city/state where I have spent so much time. Also, the museum staff/docents give personal attention without being hover-y. Hearing what they have to say always adds to the experience and knowledge. Well done all.

I visited the Old State House Museum after work during my business trip a couple of weeks ago. It was so interesting seeing and reading about the history and changes to this site. I really enjoy seeing historical sites like this. I really enjoyed the Play It Loud exhibit and seeing the different guitars and posters signed and donated by various artists. What a fun gem!

I really enjoyed our visit here while in Little Rock. The Old State House Museum is the original state capitol building of Arkansas and the oldest standing state capitol building west of the Mississippi River! All the staff I encountered here was friendly and welcoming; I met Jimmy and he was able to tell me about the knife fight that broke out between two of the legislators. Lots to see and learn. The museum has free admission but accepts donations to preserve this beautiful building and its history.

The museum was very interesting. The movie was not showing at the time we were there, but the gentleman at the desk gave us a brief discussion of the history. Then we proceeded in our own time enjoying the museum. We were particularly interested in the information about the repairs done on the building and foundation. If you enjoy music from the '60s, you will want to spend plenty of time in the display of beautiful guitars and pictures of performers. There are also gowns worn by former first ladies of Arkansas. There are many other displays that you may want to see when you visit, so be sure and allow enough time to see everything of interest to you.
