Early Black Friday 2025 Deals Launch Across Major Retail Chains
Major retailers are starting their Black Friday promotions earlier than ever this year, with deals beginning weeks before the traditional Nov. 28 shopping date.
Amazon has planned a 12-day promotional event starting Wednesday, Nov. 20, and running through Cyber Monday, Dec. 1. The e-commerce giant promises millions of deals across more than 35 categories, from home goods and beauty to electronics and apparel, with some of its lowest prices of the year.
"Amazon is your home for holiday shopping savings," said Doug Herrington, CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores. "We're providing customers with incredible Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday deals across a vast selection of products, with deep discounts across more than 35 categories and some of our lowest prices of the year so far on top brands."
The retailer's strategy includes daily deal drops through "Today's Big Deals," featuring limited-time discounts while supplies last. Amazon's Holiday Shop will offer curated collections, including top 100 lists and products organized by recipient and price point. Prime Video will broadcast 15 hours of live sports on Black Friday, with viewers able to shop deals directly through their remote controls.

Kohl's is taking a different approach by gamifying the shopping experience. The department store chain kicked off its "Early Access" event Nov. 7-9 and will conclude with an extended Black Friday week sale running Nov. 23-29. During that period, shoppers can snag 15% off qualifying purchases and earn $15 in Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent.
"At Kohl's, we're focused on delivering unmatched value and experiences that make holiday shopping easier and more rewarding for our customers," said Christie Raymond, Kohl's chief marketing officer. The retailer's "Kohl's Holiday Quest" digital game offers daily prizes through Christmas, with more than $1 million in total rewards up for grabs.
JCPenney started its Black Friday deals on Nov. 8. The chain is offering golden tote bags to shoppers who spend over $25 and will run daily deals through Nov. 20. On Black Friday itself, JCPenney plans "5, 9, 1, 5" giveaways at those times throughout the day, including chances to win its exclusive Snoopy Snow Globe.
