“Jao and team are great. It's nice to see renovations taking place on the site. Have to mention as well that this is the CHEAPEST GAS on the lower island (usually 7-9 cents cheaper than Victoria). Glad to have this gas station on my commuting route; always stop when I need fuel.”

VERDICT/VALUE This review is based solely on the automated car wash (not the self-serve car wash, gas service, or in-store service).If you're looking for a touches car wash: this could be the place! A Volcano Wash (basically, all of the fixings) is $17.99 and you don't have to worry about harsh/unclean brushes scratching up your ride. It's not perfect either, but our black car came out just fine, with bird droppings and excessive wheel dust all removed.The only thing I didn't know (it's me or the machine) is that when going through the dryer at the end, if one backs up a little - I saw 60 seconds left and wanted to dry more of the front of my car - it turns off the dryer immediately. Evidently, I should have kept moving forward :)”
“Had to pull over in a panic as my daughter got very car sick!! The staff were so kind jumping to our assistance with a cup of cold water and a roll of paper towel.
No judgement from the staff here at all!

“This is what all neighborhood stations should be. I needed a big socket at work, my guy didn't show up, so I borrowed it from the service station! No problem, found the socket and rachet and let me borrow it. Didn't even ask when I'd bring it back. That's trust In your fellow man woman in my case, I did leave a deposit but it never would have replaced the tools.So niebourhood stations are there for you the shell and esso stations won't even let you borrow a gas can.”
“Shout out to Alyssa at the Wale Road location for her quick action when my vehicle died in the car wash line up. She attempted to charge the battery and when that didn’t work, she called on an employee from the neighbouring Mr. Lube to give the battery a quick charge. You saved the day Alyssa!”
“I had an outstanding experience with one of the employees here. They went above and beyond to help me with an issue that wasn’t even their responsibility. They took the time to contact the other companies, keep me updated and even resolved the issue! Truly amazing service and such a great example of going the extra mile.”

Unfortunately, they are closed overnight, as it is in a very good location for passing trucks!

“Easy in/out for gas, with no problems so far. I've always been able to redeem PC optimum points, along with filling my car and paying at the pump. It's quick and convenient, with zero interaction required. It's fairly clean here too, with garbage cans being mostly empty and a conscience store nearby. This Esso is a good stop if you're within the Esquimalt area, looking for a quick refill on gas and/or redeeming PC optimum points and/or Circle K coupons.”

“I limped in with a flat tire today and needed to change it in the parking lot in the middle of a snow storm. I went inside to see if they sold gloves, the person that had just finished their shift stopped and made sure I was ok and gave me their personal gloves. Words can't express what that gesture meant.”

“I like the renovation. Very clean and coffee from the back bistro is amazing. What I don't like are the girls and guys selling car polish at the front door. If I want car polish, I'll go to Canadian tire. I have to dodge their sales when all I want is gas, which makes me want to go to another gas station. Regular staff are great.”

“This is just another gas station in Mill Bay. It is interesting how there is the Co-op gas station diagonally across the street and the price difference sometimes can be 20 cents diff. But usually this Shell is slightly more expensive than Co-op. It is attached to a convenient store. The convenient store does have some groceries items such as milk and cheese. There is also an ATM machine inside if you need some cash. It is also beside a few fast food restaurants such as McDonald or A&W.”

“Decent self-service car wash. Bays are a little narrow and open on top, so if it's raining, you will get wet. The water pressure is good and the lights are nice and bright, although the foam brush is a bit weak. Coin-operated only, but if you don't have change, you can go inside and get some from the cashier. It's just a normal car wash, so it's not going to do a whole lot against really thick grime, but it's as good as any other coin-op wash. As for gas, it's mostly just like every other Shell. No card tap on the pumps, so you do have to use the chip (unless I'm blind and just couldn't find it).Oh, and don't let the spray wax get on your windshield - it will cause a nasty smearing effect when it rains, and you'll have to clean it off again.”

“I found the total experience incredible. There had to be about 15 to 18 guys working there and not one standing around doing nothing. Considering it was towards the end of the day the place was very clean with tools all in their place. I really enjoyed watching the show. And yet one of many things stood out, it seemed to me that safety definitely came first in everything they did. They were not only very friendly to the customer but to each other. Thank-you one and all for running such a place.”
