Book Stores
“I love this store. She was my “go to” for all the James Patterson reading I could do. Now I am trying other authors. The owner(is it Diane) is fabulous and very knowledgeable.”
“Cute little bookstore with a few art supplies and cards, bumper stickers and a great little cafe with awesome sandwiches. There's a super outdoor space for eating in shade and some nice lounging chairs”
“Such a cute little bookstore with a really warm and cozy atmosphere. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. I stopped by during my trip and ended up buying a book I didn’t expect to find there, I was genuinely surprised they had it. Overall, such a lovely place with a great vibe.”
“This book store is a local treasure in the Comox Valley. Cozy, inviting and always a large selection of rotating preloved books to discover. The owner has always been helpful and kind! I would definitely recommend a visit if your in down town Courtenay. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“The store is always air conditioned nicely and on these hot summer days it feels like a retreat! Staff is always helpful when I need help finding a book. They also remember details about books I’ve read and give recommendation or steer me away from certain books! 10/10”
“This is my new favourite bookstore in the valley. If you are a true book lover who wants to read all things weird and wonderful, this is your place.
Alongside some more well-know titles, Dirk has curated a collection of books that I would never have stumbled upon anywhere else. Upon his recommendation, I just finished The Man Who Spoke Snakish, a book by an Estonian writer just recently translated to English. The book is beautifully written and contains a worldview I have never considered - never even knew existed.
I’ve so appreciated my conversations with Dirk and the wonderful literature he’s exposed me to.”
