Jennifer's behavior was absolutely appalling and unprofessional. She had the audacity to ask me, "What do you want?" as if I had wandered into her personal space rather than a store. It's shocking that someone in her position—a manager, no less—would display such blatant rudeness, not only toward me but also toward her junior associates. I witnessed her berating them in a manner that was downright unacceptable. Based on the reviews I've read, this isn't an isolated incident—it's a recurring issue. As a retail manager myself, I can confidently say this is no way to treat people, whether they're customers or employees. Staples needs to take swift and serious disciplinary action to address this. Until then, my family and I will not be returning to this store.

Terribly rude staff that treated my young daughter horribly when it came to her attempting to ship a cell phone with a Rogers shipping label for Purolator. All Rogers phones are shipped through Purolator. Not impressed and would like to management to reach me as its impossible to get anyone on the phone.

Really frustrating experience. Got business cards that take 5-7 days. After 3 weeks I called, none of the staff knew what to do or how to help. A month later I called, they said they would cancel the order and resend it and I’d get a confirmation email right away. A week and a half later, I call again and they say they never have been in production cause the card doesn’t line up with the border. So they never had plans to print them. And they never had plans to tell me that, so I would have been calling and calling for months. No one emailed to let me know there was a problem. Then after asking for a refund, I had to go into the store itself to get the refund even though it was an online order. When I went to the store, literally no one knew how to help or what to do. Manager was busy dealing with other frustrated customers so clearly this is a pattern. He keep helping others before me. This place is a mess. Don’t bother! Even the staff admitted that no one knows what they’re doing.

No matter how many competent employee's are doing their best; when there is a manager that is like a deadly virus, the virus will spread to whom they come into contact with. The manager hates her job, this is very apparent. We visit this location once a week. No longer though, we will take our business elsewhere because we don't need that negativity.

Just a garbage place to go, staff have no clue what they are doing in any department. Customers standing around waiting to be helped, don’t even try and send out a package through them they will get the address’s wrong then won’t give you back a refund for having to make another package label “ you have to get a refund from fedex , not us “. A staff even had the nerve to say “what do you want ?”
Instead of “ how May I help you? “ etc… how rude is that? where is the management for this place? Where is corporate to come in and fix this horrible garbage of a store they have? What a useless waste of peoples time. Shame on you staples.
From a disgusted FORMER customer.
Even the owner feedback on these reviews are generic and full of bs , clearly you see you have issues at your store. Fix them.

Terrible rudeness from the bored and yet “you’re an inconvenience “ female sales person today at the print desk. I was just making conversation. I get that being friendly or offering anything remotely considered as “service” these days is rare but if you hate your job that much - work somewhere else!!!!
Oh and don’t bother trying to call the customer service line. No one answers. Too busy chatting amongst themselves in the store. I’ll go elsewhere. It seems to be what Staples wants!

Same as some other reviews here. Getting through on the phone is a terrible process. Left to wait on hold for a time, only to have an automated voice say "call back later". This has been going on for years. Answering the phone should be a top priority. These are...customers...trying to call and give you business. And you can bet the competition answers their phone.
When visiting the store, staff is nowhere to be found. And in general, I find it takes me several times longer then competing stores to get in and get help.
This causes me to want to avoid staples and only go there if someone else doesn't have what I need.
2024 update: Still very poorly run. I would advise staying far away from this location. Every time I deal with them, its filled with frustration and time wasting. I have been calling over and over and almost 45 minutes and no one answers the phone anywhere. Print center, order pickup, customer service, technology are all not answering their phones.
Response to Staples support: Perhaps one of your dedicated team could show up at the location and actually answer a ringing phone, as opposed to spending time on canned responses that do nothing to correct how the store operates. This has been going on for years, and has consistently been my experience. The other reviews also detail these very same issues repeatedly.
It's not my intention to be rude. But the reality is, there is problems at that location. And a soothing comment won't fix anything.

I agree with many other reviewers. I have had one or two positive interactions with the staff, the many other times have been some of the worst I have experienced from customer service. The younger staff doesn't seem as well informed about the store, but there is specifically one older woman who was ridiculously rude every time I have had to deal with her. I have a business account, and now only print here if absolutely necessary.I have ordered items for pickup, bought in store and printed at this staples, and had issues with all services. I would recommend Sure Copy in Courtenay for printing instead I have heard amazing things and its owner operated so if there are any issues it can be resolved appropriately and without making the customer feel like they are the problem. At this staples you will pay for the convenience - one way or another!

Bought an apple watch less than a week ago and it went on sale for $40 off. I went in with my receipt to get the price difference (as it says on the website), and the employee quite rudely said they only do that if you return the item and buy another of the same item which makes no sense. I don’t know his name (very short hair and black shirt) but he clearly doesn’t know the company’s own policies. I have the receipt, it says on the website that they refund the difference (see photo), why do I need to return the watch and buy another identical one? No other store does that. It is ridiculous.Edit: went to campbell river store and they said “its no problem” and did it in less than 10 minutes. Thanks Campbell River store

Copy and print is some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They have no idea how to help you PRINT things even though it is in the name COPY AND PRINT. Only go there because I have to, very poorly run department.
