791 2 Ave, FernieExceptional service and a testament to why you should shop locally. Our dog Evie became very food averse after an illness and stopped eating her regular food. She would quite often eat a new food once and then stop. It was very stressful and difficult but the incredible staff at Barkside were so helpful and knowledgeable that it made the whole process a lot easier to navigate. I cannot recommend Barkside highly enough to everyone.

Tamarack Dining Room at Island Lake Lodge
Cedar Ave, FernieThe food at the Tamarack Dining Room at Island Lake Lodge is truly a work of art. My husband and I ate here both nights of our stay and made a point to order different dishes the second night—it was hard to decide which we liked best. I am mostly vegetarian, and I didn’t feel like I was skimping on choices; both nights the veggie options were above and beyond flavourful and satisfying, but I especially loved the gochujang glazed tofu. My husband was thrilled with the chicken and waffles, and the salmon mosaic.
The service was incredible too: the servers missed nothing, and could speak to every dish and offer suggestions based on dietary preferences. All the staff were warm and welcoming, and the view is amazing. Island Lake Lodge itself is gorgeous, and the Tamarack Dining Room frames the vista so you can savour the view alongside your food. If you get a chance to dine at the Tamarack Dining Room, consider yourself a lucky duck because you’re in for a treat!

The Fernie Taphouse
691 1st Ave, FernieWe didn't get to enjoy inside as we were traveling with our pup. Most of the restaurants with patios were not pup friendly in Fernie, so after a long search we were welcomed at this restaurant. Service by Josh was amazing, our Deep Fried Pickles crisp and hot, Hubby enjoyed his Smash Burger and my Fish and Chips were inhaled...as were our pints...Luna loved the love and the water 💧😋
