“A lovely vintage mall with thoughtfully curated booths. The vendors are all extremely friendly and you can tell that their pieces are carefully selected! I am often overwhelmed when I visit antique stores, but not at the Hayloft. It’s a very calming and welcoming atmosphere and while there is plenty of selection, it never feels overwhelming to look through everything!I especially love Jug & Basin who have lots of pieces from a beautiful vintage pottery set I am collecting ? can’t wait to come back for more!”

“We were so impressed by the wonderful staff; the high quality of furniture and so many different types of furniture. Tim and the staff are so accommodating and supportive. We found a piece of furniture we just love. It looks awesome in our bedroom. Tim delivered it and he also offered to pick up and deliver a dining table we had purchased from another business. Not only that, he put it together at our place. What a guy and what a great company. Highly recommend them. We will be back time and time again.”

“Love this store. The owners are knowledgeable, friendly and easy to deal with. When we stopped in the store during a summer visit, Johnathan took the time to share his passion for antiques with my husband and I and our 14 year old son. Recently there were a few items I was interested in and had them shipped out to me. I was completely impressed with the packaging and how easy it was to deal with them again. Highly recommend checking out Rempel Mercantile and Antiques.”

“Vancouver and its environs are widely known as being prime shooting locations for numerous television and movie productions and during each visit I've secretly hoped that I'd encounter a celebrity while here. My opportunity to meet a "celebrity" occurred in quite unexpected fashion while exploring "Country Lane Antiques" just outside of Vancouver in the quaint village of Fort Langley. Part of the allure of "antiquing" is the hope that you'll discover a special treasure for you to cherish. Well in my case what I discovered was a special person to cherish. After working my way about halfway through the store I noticed an old door that had been adorned with various newspaper clippings and photographs (some of them autographed). When I approached "celebrity" store owner Shirley Rempel at the counter, she generously regaled us with some of her experiences when her store was featured in television shows or movies. In the movie "Welcome to Marwen" (directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Steve Carell and Leslie Mann), her store served as the exterior of the hobby store (while the neighboring store was completely transformed for the filming of the interior scenes). In the A & E Network show "Bates Motel" (starring Vera Farmiga), her store was used for the taxidermy shop scenes. In the movie "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" (starring Jim Carey and Idris Elba), various battle scenes were filmed on the street right in front of her store. You can find more information about Shirley's store if you search for "CountryLaneAntiques.ca" on Facebook.I don't know if all Hollywood "celebrities" are as personable and gracious as Shirley, but here's hoping! Now that I know someone who knows celebrities, does that mean that I'm now "celebrity adjacent?" And that's...Henry's Take.#canadiancelebrities”
